When you marry someone in the Armed Forces you have an inkling of the life that you’re getting into but like most things you have no real idea until you jump straight in.
I am extremely proud to be an army wife and am immensely proud of my husband. For his dedication, commitment and for being the hardest working person I know. He inspires me every day.
We have met many amazing people, those past and present who have served, continue to serve or who have given their lives fo...r their country.
I have also been blessed to make fantastic lifelong friends and meet many other service families. Those who have true grace and dignity and inspire me to be a better person.
Today please take a moment to appreciate where you are, what you have and what many have given and continue to give so you can live the life you want. We are extremely fortunate.

Come to our outdoor Pilates session at Rutland Water where the focus of the session will be: Balance through Breath (Using the breath to challenge balance and add a new - and not necessarily easy! dimension to your practice)
An hour and a quarter Pilates session followed by a light breakfast and refreshments overlooking the beautiful Barnsdale Woods at Rutland Water.
£18 for the session, spaces are limited and must be pre booked. Contact us to book your space.
Classes are mixed ability, if you’re a complete beginner a one to one will be required to introduce you to the fundamentals of Pilates so that you feel comfortable and confident.

Creating a habit is hard. Once you do it becomes part of an accepted routine and you don’t know any different.
I encourage my clients to habit stack exercise where they can to make it a little easier to fit into daily life.
E.g. heel raises whilst cleaning your teeth 🦷, knee bends whilst waiting for the kettle to boil ☕️ or shoulder bridges in front of the telly 📺.
... Every bit adds up and will help you feel taller, stronger and more flexible.
See yesterday’s arm opening exercise for a great one to do whilst watching telly (or in my case, lying on the boys’ bedroom floor waiting for them to go to sleep 🛏...)

What can I do at home in between sessions?
My lovely Pregnancy Pilates client asked me miss this other day and I literally wanted to hug her there and then. 💕
Coming to class is brilliant, I can watch your form, give you pointers and tailor a workout to you and what you and your mind, body and soul need that day.
... But I want you to take what you learn in class into your everyday life.
That’s where the magic happens 🤩
By practicing in between sessions you really start to learn more about your body, improve your body awareness and all those little movements build up to see results quicker and more importantly maintain those results for the long term.
Maintaining a strong body and healthy mind is for keeps. The only way you’re going to maintain that is to make a commitment to yourself and be patient and persistent.
To help you along the way each class/client gets a home routine to practice in between classes and we also give a weekly exercise as an extra something.
But above all we make it fun and accessible. If it’s not fun you’re not going to want to do it and if it feels like a chore and something else to fit in you’re not going to do it.
We give you tips to help you fit it into daily life because once you build a habit it becomes sooo much easier.
And then you can high five yourself 🖐 and keep reaping those rewards for the long term.

Massaging the feet with spiky balls is the first thing we do at the beginning of each class.
Everyone comes in, grabs a ball and gets rolling.
It gets everyone moving and chatting and helps to prepare everybody for the work to follow.
... Calming their mind and body, slowing down the pace of life and their breath and starting to think about their body awareness and alignment.
Why is spiky ball massage so great on the feet? 🦶
✅it improves circulation (all that sitting means that the feet don’t work as much as they should) ✅it improves mobility and flexibility of the feet and ankles ✅helps to reduce heel pain and aches and pains (great for plantar fasciitis) ✅strengthens the foundation of the body
Add this to your workout routine and see how you feel.
⭐️Start slowly rolling forwards and backwards from the toes towards the heel along the connective tissue. ⭐️Pay a bit of attention to the arches and sides of the feet. ⭐️Let your heel rest on the floor and have the ball of the foot on the ball, gently let the ankle roll from side to side. ⭐️Let your foot go all the way over the ball so the ball of the foot is on the floor, heel of the foot on the ball and let the ankle sway from side to side.
