Wow! What a ship! We travelled as a party of 4 with 2 children and we all had a great time! There was always something to do! Our children didn't join any kids club's (there choice) but we managed to keep them entertained the whole time anyway! We ate most of the time in the windjammer, which we much preffered. Service was ok, but nothing special, but to be honest we just get on with it anyway and don't really require much attending too. We will absolutely recommend this ship to our family and friends, as we were very impressed with the facility's on board!

Our first cruise 🚢 so glad we chose Independence of the Seas, amazing ship, all staff behind the scenes and staff in the forefront are fantastic can’t do enough for you. Service in dining restaurant amazing especially our waiter Agnelo and assistant waiter Kevin thank you so much for the service and the laughs we all had, not forgetting Tyrone thank you as well. Can’t wait to book our next cruise 🚢 with Royal Caribbean. We are now hooked 🌊🚢⚓️🛳

Our first cruise and I loved it . We sailed to Cherbourg on 28th May . Can't wait to do it again. Amazing staff , the ship is gorgeous. Something for everyone. Entertainment was fab too . The only downside was the weather wasn't as we would have liked, but can't do anything about that. Thankyou until next time.

On our last day of our holiday dock in Southampton tomorrow, we have had a brilliant time the food is excellent and the staff are so friendly especially Gerald who looks after our state room and Catalin who works in the Ale and Anchor. Looking to book another cruise but just can’t decide were to go.

My sister and I have just returned back from the 3 day cruise to Cherbourg. It was my first cruise, I absolutely loved it and didn't want it to end. A few minor teething problems I would say however they are probably training new staff.

I would recommend Independence of the Seas. She is a very beautiful ship. Didn't think much of the nightclub. The set up was all wrong. Cinema/Theatre seating felt like you were in an audience watching over people dancing or just standing around as there wan't any tables and chairs. Loved the revised nightclub up on Deck 14. Partied hard and had the best time. Met some great people and will miss the experience very much. I will be booking to go on a Royal Caribbean cruise again for sure

Just returned from our 5 day cruise from Fort Lauderdale to Labadee, Haiti and Falmouth, Jamaica. Impeccable service throughout the ship, especially in the dinning room and at the bars. Staff was very friendly, professional and on point. Every little detail was spot on, as we celebrated my In-laws 50th wedding anniversary. From the decorated balcony stateroom to our waiter at the Romeo and Juliet dining room, every little attention was greatly appreciated. Our whole family was in awe once we boarded the ship. Thank you Royal Caribbean for our great cruise experience!

Just got off Independence of the seas. Great 5 day cruise. Excellent service and food in MDR. Fantastic shows. Ship is starting to show its age, however is still very clean and well maintained. We will be going on Independence again soon after her refurb. We were on Freedom this past November and will be on Freedom again this April. Although freedom and Indy are nearly identical, I have to say that the level of service and food quality was much better on Independence. Freedom always seemed to be under staffed in the MDR. We will see if it's improved in 7 weeks.

Just got back from a two night cruise on the newly refurbished Independence of the Seas....no expense has been spared, it’s truly first class! My first cruise and the bar has been set so high...will be saving to go again 🍾🥂😊

Just got back from 2 night cruise on I of the Seas. I don’t know where to begin. It was incredible , 5 star , the most luxurious ship I have ever been on. The staff , food , cabins were amazing. It has just been refitted so like a new ship. I cannot wait to go on it again. The only negative would be the bar has now been set so high so I don’t think another ship could come up to the same standard.

Thank you Royal Caribbean.

Just been on the independence for 2 weeks and had the best time. Could not fault a single thing or recommend this anymore! All the staff were so attentive. Love the fact every night in the main dining room at dinner you have your own waiter and assistant waiter allows you to get to know them on a more personal level, we were looking out for them by the end. There was also good meals for breakfast and lunch in the windjammer, when there was on seats they always made them available as quickly as possible by opening other areas so people didn’t have to stand about waiting. Room was always cleaned to a high standard. Amazing food and entertainment.

Formal nights were good as I enjoy getting dressed up although thought is was good there was no pressure to dress up for those who would prefer not to.

Cruise director Joff made the whole entire cruise an experience to remember.

Will definitely go back on another cruise.

Day two trip to Norway . Its our fourth cruise on her. The refub is brilliant, only problem is I can't join in due to poor health. Had fish and chips lunch today, lovely fish and chips just like at home. Easy to use self service for breakfast found seat straight away, like the new ideal for washing your hands. Have table for two in main dining room on deck 5, much better than being with a table for 10 like we had last year. Only a day into the cruise we booked another one.

Love this ship. Party time every day. We had a fantastic 3 days, we go every year this one was a bit special because of the Royal Wedding which we watched on the big outdoor screen due to the weather being unbelievable, sunny, warm, and bright blue sky. We thought RC could have made more of the occasion with bunting on deck and maybe a blast on the ships funnel at the crucial moment. The cruise it's self was great!!!! Always is.

Us four girls had a great time, can't wait for next year.

Have done the transatlantic twice on Independence and she’s one of our favourite ships. Being coeliac it’s important that I avoid gluten. Our last cruise was on Celebrity Constellation. Celebrity have adopted an allergen labelling system for the foods in their Oceanview cafe. Have Royal Caribbean done anything similar with their Windjammer, does anyone know, because Celebrities system worked really well. We’re thinking about doing the transatlantic on Independence again, but from Southampton instead of ft Lauderdale.

My 2nd time with Royal Caribbean, a 2 night is definitely a party cruise. We wee disappointed by the service which was a let down, not enough waiters in the bars had to wait a good 20 min plus for drinks, hopefully this has been rectified for next sailing. However our party had a great time.

Ship refurb has been done really well pity it was let down by numerous niggles (I suppose a taster trip is like that)

Tried three times to get breakfast no seats whatsoever (over a span of 90minutes)

One restaurant finally let people sit in there yet one wouldnt allow it and the lady helping her attitude stunk. Tried to eat in the MDR at 9:15 to be told they were closed! Told to use deck three dining room, went there, they were closed at nine!

Checked bill online on our TV to find two other people's names were also included, probably explained the empty trainer's box that we found next to the bin in the room when we first went in.

Food in the windjammer first night was excellent, too much choice! Second night was appalling.

So much hassle with previous day breakfast we got off this morning and didn't bother trying.

Taster trip had numerous hen/stag parties and the boat looked a shit hole after a few hours on deck 12, bottles, glasses, fag packets strewn all over the place.

Drinks package is a joke, 82 dollars per person per day, if that's not encouraging people to get smashed I don't know what is, I like a drink but couldn't see how it could pay to get the package, basically have to have ten plus drinks to break even. We've travelled many times with RC and therefore have perks that to be honest we didn't realise, only one person told us that we had free drinks available. Not impressed.

User

OMG, on check out day and all hell has broke loose, system has gone down meaning cards declined so not let people off the boat, ques miles hours long, children getting fed up, not one staff giving refreshments at all terrible

User

Fun ship ruined by a dreadful check-in plus absolute carnage at the first lunch...only the Buffet was open, no restaurants at all....4000 people all trying to eat together...no chairs, no tables, no help! Had this been the whole story i would never travel with RC again, however it seems that this is the speciality of the Independence....maybe it was "just" a weekend cruise and they didn't care? Well you only have one chance to make a first impression! Having said that, the entertainment was brilliant, the cabin was also great...but there didn't appear to be enough staff overall.....often it took a long time to get served, be that at a bar or in the restaurants...and the drinks were very expensive (+50% on top of P&O)... Its celebrity, P&O or Princess for me now.....and sadly I am no longer going to try out a cruise in Singapore next February based on this experience , our RC cruise to the Caribbean last month was ok, but I had hoped the IofTS would have been better, which is a shame as I really like some of the itineraries :-)
