Independent Food Aid Network

The Independent Food Aid Network (IFAN) represents more than 500 independent food banks operating across their UK and envisions a country without the need for emergency food aid. IFAN has identified at least 1034 independent food banks operating across the UK in addition to Trussell Trust, Salvation Army and school-based food banks. IFAN's latest UK-wide data showed an 110% increase in need for emergency food parcels comparing February to November 2020 with the same period in 2019. IFAN campaigns for changes to the social security system and for a real Living Wage and secure work to reduce the need for food banks. IFAN is currently supporting the co-development of cash first referral leaflets across Scotland and England.
