I bet a few minutes in the company of Chris Packham would make me feel better. He's so lush! Have you made it out into nature lately?

Took my son and some friends away at the weekend and tested out my new gazebo. Happy to report that it is AMAZING! Really pleased with how sturdy it is.
Will be using it next year to take my massage skills to events around the UK. Comment below if you know of any small fairs or festivals that could benefit from having a massage therapist at them.

Anyone listen to Podcasts?
My lovely doctor recommended "Feel better, live more" with Dr Rangan Chatterjee and I'm really enjoying listening to it.
Loads of interesting guests talking about nutrition, movement, sleep and relaxation.
... Let me know what you think if you try it out!

Ah yes! Such a lovely thought. Healing not just for ourselves and our immediate relatives and friends but also for future generations. Beautiful.

Have you asked your body what they need recently?

Behind every great man and woman is their bum! In fact, it is not only behind them but also keeping them together and supporting them. So doesn't it deserve some TLC too?
There are some great massage techniques I can use on your glutes and associated muscles. There is a tricky little one called the piriformis, which is kinda hidden and can cause some annoying aches and pains. It can be a bit sore to massage but I promise I will go gently and have found that releasing it can make a big difference.
I can massage over pants so if you are feeling a bit shy, leave them on. I will always keep your modesty carefully covered with towels though so of you are happy to go the full monty don't worry, I only uncover the bit I need to work on.

As a massage therapist I treat a lot of shoulder, neck and back pain, a lot of which is due to workspaces that are just not ergonomic. Below is a simple guide to keeping your body happy when working on a computer.
If you use a laptop I would recommend investing in a wireless keyboard. They are inexpensive and really good (I remember worrying mine would be glitchy as it didn't cost much at all but it is brilliant and has been going for years!) They are also really simple to ...install and use and should also come with a wireless mouse.
A desk that is adjustable is also a worthwhile buy if you want to keep you joints and muscles in good condition. You don't have to spend money on an ugly and wasteful plastic screen riser - a stack of books will do the job just as well and you can rest your feet on more books or a cardboard box
It may not seem like a big thing but the stress you put on your body when you stay in unnatural positions for long periods of time is immense and can cause lots of long term problems.
I was trained in setting up ergonomic workspaces in another life, long ago so if you would like help with this please bring a photo of your workspace to your appointment and I will suggest adjustments/improvements.

I was reflecting just now on a time when I felt judged. Someone said something, quite off the cuff and (I am 100% sure) without any trace of animosity but it has stuck with me and I think about it regularly and feel slightly bad.
Luckily for me I live an existence where I rarely feel judged, which is really nice for me. Sadly, many people have lives that are filled with judgement from others - family, friends, co-workers. And I really hate that.
Some people even feel judged ...

So excited to be going on Deep Tissue Massage Training this weekend.
I will be adding it to my repertoire to enhance my service of individualised treatments as recommended in this article.
Having trained with the course leader before I know that he does not believe in "No pain, no gain" and has an almost encyclopedic knowledge of the human body as well as a deep respect for the connection between bodyworker and client and the value of intuition within healing.
... Can't wait to be able to add some new techniques to my practice but definitely holding the awareness that with pressure, more is not always better!
Book an hour's treatment now for next week and get £5 off so I can try out my new moves (if I feel they would benefit you)
One hour holistic massage for £25!

Getting some new Business Cards designed by my massively talented brother @Puzzleboxgraphics and want to express my body positivity on them.
How does this line sound?
"Body Positive therapist - lumps, bumps, hair and spots all welcome here"
... Anything people get nervous about that I should add?
These will mainly be given to people I meet rather than left about in public places...

I love these aliens. Hope he does a Reiki one too!😂
Seriously though, I don't believe pain is necessary during a good massage, whatever the region!

Have booked myself a Hot Stone Massage at the end of April when I go to a spa with my Mum and Sis.
I have always loved the feeling of lying on a rock warmed by the sunshine, and the feeling of smooth pebbles in my hands, so I can't wait!
If I like it as much as I think I will I'm going to try and find a training course.
... Who would like to come for a hot stone massage with me one day?
