Are you allowed? Hell yes. YOU do the allowing, no one else.

Your baby's blood belongs in your baby! There's no such thing as 'cord blood', it's your baby's blood! There's no need to rush to cut the cord. YOU decide when you and your baby are ready to separate baby & placenta. Nothing bad (but plenty of good!) happens if the cord is left intact.

Many inductions for being "overdue" are based on this idea that placentas age, which just isn't true.
