Thank you to Charlotte, Jack (JD) and Leroy for looking after us all night x 20 cocktails was way more than what I was expecting �� Brilliant cocktail bar

We booked for a special birthday and were looked after the whole time - fantastic food (so much of it, as well!) and Charlotte and the team catered for a variety of needs. An amazing cocktail masterclass (including mocktails for those not drinking!) and Jack was a fantastic host for the class - friendly, knowledgable and entertaining!

We can't wait for the next outing, it sounds like there will be some great nights ahead!

Really enjoyed today’s gin tasting event, learned loads about gin from the very knowledgable host and got to taste lots of different gins with lovely nibbles. Would recommend this as a great girls afternoon!

I booked a table as a surprise anniversary treat for my husband prior to going next door to Parr Hall to watch Mowtown (also a surprise) We arrived at 6.15 and were led to a lovely booth at the far end of the room. The food was lovely and the service was good with friendly staff. We will definitely go again. Regarding the dress code as I said we were there early and were leaving before 8pm. We were casually dressed and there was no mention of it. I know that if we go again after 8pm we will be getting dressed up. All in all a very pleasant time.

Had my 60th birthday party here - it was amazing!

The food was fantastic & they catered brilliantly for my 100 guests including vegetarian & gluten free dishes. The resident DJ played great music & had everyone up dancing. The bar was well decorated for my birthday & everyone said what a great venue it was. I would recommend this as a venue for any celebration!

A group of us booked in for the cocktail masterclass..... what can I say - it was brilliant.... Max aka- Mr Masterclass was great � the cocktails were delicious - so we were taught well - overall fun night out.... great setting, great music.... would highly recommend �

Pint of Estrella was lovely, pulled pork nachos were gorgeous and arrived to the table pretty quickly. Decor, seating and ambience excellent! only downside as agreed by the whole of my group was the service from the staff member behind the bar - no eye contact, no smile, lack of enthusiasm, mumbled speech and all round terrible customer service! The only blip on are lunch time.

I would like to thank you for ruining the celebration of our son and girlfriends engagement. After spending over an hour in your bar and 3 rounds of drinks later, one of our party went to get drinks when a member of your bar staff asked him for ID which unfortunately he didn't have, this resulted in him being refused as he didn't live up to your policy of "challenge 25", he was 23 by the way and was with his mother and father!! Legally you have to be 18 to drink which obviously he is and looks older than this, after a lengthy discussion with your Manager he was still refused which resulted in us having to leave the bar as he wasn't allowed any more alcohol. On leaving the bar your notice actually states "challenge 21", I suggest your manager and staff need to get their facts right before preaching their so called policy.

I have put a review on Trip Advisor, this has come up on FB so here goes again.

Realise why these places use Groupon, to get you through the door, taken us a while to realise that with Groupon your made to feel second class and that was never more apparent than in this place. We were the only people in there yet still everything seemed an effort, when our Latte's arrived luck warm and we took them back, well if looks could of killed !! Replaced with equally luck warm ones !! Had practically finnished our food when we got offered condiments and like I said we were the only two in the place, not like they were run off their feet. Sadly will not be going again and would not recommend.

I came to Institution with a friend last Saturday. We had booked a table for food the week before. We arrived at institution and the waitress seated us on a tiny table near to the toilet right in the corner of the bar. I went up to ask for a menu at the bar and was told that no food would be served that night, I found this to be very unprofessional as there was no explanation as to why there was no food being served even though i specifically stated that I wanted to eat when I booked. I was then offered bar snacks as an alternative which consisted of pretzels and salted peanuts. A little later we noticed a sign saying Nachos so we asked if we could order those to then be told the chef was busy and it will be over an hour and a half wait. The waitress who served us was very vague and did not provide good customer service.

Group of 6 adults aged 40+ refused entry as 1 of party wearing Ralph Lauren plimsolls. Very disappointed as we are not local and i cannot see anywhere on the website that it states a dress code and we were all dressed nicely and and as we travelled far our friends were very disappointed that we could not go there for cocktails. Would not return as feel staff were very disrespectful and hade a a joke of it

Clearly, your bar service depends solely on either cup size, or penis size depending on the sexual orientation of your barmaid/man. My friend and I, both female, were left waiting for 20 mins plus while the female bar staff served the men, and ignored the women at the bar. An absolute disgrace and I won't be coming again, and I will be telling others not to come either.
