We're the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE), and we're raising the profile of mechanical engineering

The Institution's world is grouped into sectors called regions. The aim of these groupings is to give local members and those who volunteer more regular contact with the Institution and more opportunities to share ideas.

Each region is made up of a number of different volunteer groupings operating across the area and the largest of these are called Branches or Groups. In addition to Branches and Groups, the Institution supports a number of Joint Groups in conjunction with other engineering institutions.

These aim are to engage current members and to raise the profile of the engineering profession and the Institution locally. This is achieved through the provision of networking, events, news, links with like-minded organisations and opportunities for the local engineering community.
