Born in 2005, Is Black Music is the world's first alternative Black music radio show and broadcast every Tuesday night at midnight on London's 104. 4 Resonance FM. We specialise in Black folk, country and avant garde classical music and explore the cultures and traditions that lie in the foundations of the music.
This is a radio show for those who have developed a fond deep appreciation for and insight into Black music, and are now prepared to go beyond the ordinary.
We sometimes affectionately refer to it as 'Cerebral Soul'.
The show features obscure and underground artist, while also paying homage to mavericks who have pushed and opened the boundaries of the artform.
