Food always tastes better when enjoyed by the sea, today sees the Low Tide Event between the channel (pictured) of Tresco and Bryher. If you’re on the islands head across for a sample of the fresh island produce #TasteofScilly #ConnectScilly

We went over yesterday on the scillonian lll we had been informed beforehand by the company it was gonna be a rough crossing due to the weather forecast & they werent wrongUnfortunatly the boat lost power for its lighting before we were due to get aboard first time in its history i believe. We had a 3hr delay on return trip but gotta say the staff were brilliant they did everything they could to make sure the passengers were ok.From taking over a local resturant & handing out free drinks & food to everyone.Well done guys

We had a pleasant flight in a Twin Otter from Land’s End to St Mary’s early on Saturday 3 June 2017 courtesy of Capt Ian Parsons and his crew. We made the most of the hot and sunny weather over the weekend, knowing that a big storm would hit Scilly on Monday. Tuesday was mostly sunny but still very windy. Our 16.30 Islander flight back to Land’s End was delayed by about half an hour (due to air traffic control difficulties, shortage of staff and mandatory rest breaks?). But it was worth waiting for. Capt Simon Williams put all his passengers at ease and handled the rough conditions with the expected professionalism. The rough conditions and crosswind on the approach to Land’s End appeared to be challenging, but Capt Williams handled the Islander with ease and pulled off a smooth and gentle landing. Our baggage was handled with care, in particular the pottery acquired from John Bourdeaux. Thanks to all the Skybus team for making our short break so easy to achieve.

We flew over on the new helicopter service, it was my first time and I was a little apprehensive. I needn't have been as it was such a smooth ride, I didn't feel a thing as we took off and we were there in minutes. The pilot was a freindly young guy and said he had been flying for 13 years, he did a great job and made me feel safe and confortable. The booking system is simple and if you have any questions before flying (I did), just give them a call. The price is a little higher than the plane, but that's to be expected with any new service and I'd say it's worth every penny ( how often do you go anywhere by helecopter).

User

Love the Scillonian, every year we travel on her to St Mary's for the World Pilot Gig Championships. Excellent customer service!

User

Last week on our return home, we boarded the Scillonian and then remembered we had left some plants we had bought and intended to collect later, in the shop. I mentioned this to the purser and she very kindly asked one of her lads to go and get them for us before the ship sailed. They weren't of high value but our reminder of yet another fabulous holiday on the islands. We were so grateful and I wanted to put a 5* review on the website for a wonderfully human and kind action by the Scillonian crew.!! So, as well as my review, I can now enjoy wishing the Scillonian (and the crew) a VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

User

I travel to Scillies every Easter and back on 06/04/17 I travelled from LEQ to ISC. As soon as I arrived for check-in the staff were polite, friendly and attentive and even before that they handled our booking efficiently. The airport is clean modern, with ample waiting space, and even an excellent cafe in the form of Coffee Republic. The announcements calling passengers to the lounge was given with sufficient notice and boarding the Twin Otter without was done without difficulty, the captain was lovely and immediately took us through the safety procedures, then we were in his capable hands for the 15 minutes of the flight. Needless to say, he got us to Scilly seamlessly, he put everyone at ease, gave a high standard of professionalism and the flight was very smooth. In addition , the landing was absolutely spot on!

I highly endorse this company and will use them in the future.

User

Flown in plane, helicopter and sailed on The Scillonian for 20 yrs. All excellent and wish great success with the new helicopter service this spring.

User

Can't moan about them at all. On our 5th trip in the last few years to scilly. I was taken ill on mainland before my flight and had to go to hospitial. The rest of my party flew of without myself and hubby. After leaving hospitial I phoned them to see if any way I could get a flight later in the day. A lady named Debbie was so helpful and got us on the last flight of the day she did every thing she could to help us and we only had to pay a admin cost. Once at the air port they even got us on an earlier flight as there was room. So a very big thank to skybus and you Debbie, as I said on the phone you made a old lady very happy.

User

Always appreciated the service by sea and air, and glad to hear that there's now a helicopter service. (You know, logically, at an "AIRPORT" as opposed to hovering daily over 3 petrol stations and supermarkets). Well done!

User

Having tried the boat before, which wasn't favourable, we have flown on the Skybus for our last two holidays.

At Newquay airport on the way over we were told by staff and the information screen there was a half hr delay. As soon as we got into the departure lounge we bought food for the four of us. Before we had even opened it up we were called for the safety demo, then taken to the plane. So hot food and hot drinks at over £3O were binned.

Each time we have travelled on the Skybus it has been an anxious wait as to whether the flight will go ahead due to the weather.

The flights were very good and staff were friendly. I can't understand why the flights are so expensive though.

User

Unfortunately our flight was cancelled due to poor visibility, we were warned the day before so got there early and we're all set to go on earlier flight, so they did try however it was pulled at the last minute. As we knew the weather was only going to get worse we had no option and my worse fear. Staff did all they could and we were offered free luggage transfer to our B&B but this wasn't communicated to the driver and now expecting payment. Ferry was shocking due to choppy sea and I was very ill. They did need to offer alternative travel options as reason people fly is they don't like boats so am in support of the Heliport I'm afraid or improvement in radar technology as low cloud shouldn't stop play

User

The punctuality of flights is extremely poor, the only flights that leave on time are the last flights of the day.

This morning the 1st flight of the day at 0800 actually took off at 0819, ridiculous, trying to get back for work you can’t guarantee what time you will actually get in, also going the other way from home to the mainland don’t plan a train to catch as it’s a total lottery. Not good enough.

User

The Isles of Scilly steamship company ruined our holiday last year. Not only did they cancel all flights on a July Saturday to and from Scilly but they had no capacity on the boat to accommodate my husband , sister or mother whose flights were cancelled.. This lack of capacity on the boat is not communicated and not something we were previously aware of. I was already in Scilly and ended up spending 4 days alone. Not much fun!

The attitude of the company in trying to stop the proposed new Heliport is truly shocking given the appalling service the company currently provides. Abuse of market power I would say! Shame on you Isles of Scilly Steamship Company

User

Over priced an rarely delivers on its promices. Also the fact it masquardes as being “for the islands” when infact its definitely “for the wealthy” vistiors.

User

Outbound was severely delayed as firemen rang in sick. Return eventually cancelled after sitting in st marys airport all day only to be carted down to the ferry. Very poor service no refund on difference between air and sea service, they don’t provide refreshments when delayed like normal air transport. Joke of a service

User

I have just cancelled an 8:30am flight from Newquay to Scillies tomorrow if anyone wants to grab it. I should have put it on here before I rang and cancelled and I may have been able to get my money back.

What I will say is that I spoke to the most ill mannered person on the phone about it. I did not have my booking reference but the signs started before I even mentioned that. Told her that I had to cancel my flight that was the first sigh. She had no idea why I had to cancel at that stage. I thought that I had 24 hours for a refund but it's 48 so I asked to not have it cancelled and I would try to sell it as its that time of year (WPGC) "no" was the reply, would have to ask her manager. The sighs continued throughout the whole of my call after every sentence. So I just had to say something to her.

I know it's that time of year, I know that's it's early, I know that you are very busy but your manner is terrible you could have at least have empathy with those of us who have been unfortunate and not been able to travel. I am disappointed that I cannot have my holiday. I am upset that my dog has had to have another operation. Poor show Isles of Scilly travel, I'm sure you will sell the flight again. I suppose this is what to expect from a company that has the monopoly on the travel on and off the Island.#islesofscillytravel#poor service

User

I cannot remember the last time I had a return journey that wasn’t subject to delay/cancellation. Communication is alway very poor. Attitude is aligned to that of a monopoly

User

I am really unhappy with Your service today for the 10am scillonian. Total unorganised chaos on the quay with bags for the two sailings getting mixed up. Told to get out the way by one of your staff, while I was trying to move my young son out the way. Your chairman and chief exec wonders why people of Scilly & West Cornwall want a more refined helicopter service? I suggest they would know if they were @St Mary's this morning! Then we will have the madness of trying to find bags at PZ. It was no better on the way out a wk ago, when bags we're literally thrown from the ship to the offshore boats. Cattle get treated better on the way to market.

Not enough over priced food on aboard for the 10am sailing, ran out of bacon rolls b4 we sailed! You know in advance how many people are on board!

I await your response.

Awful experience, our flight from lands end was cancelled due to fog which we knew was a possibility as had seen the weather warning so we were told to arrive early so we got there 4 hours before our flight time in the hope of getting on earlier flights, told none available. No alternative flights the next day were offered, only option was Scillonian the next day. Lost a days holiday, had to pay £150 for a B and B, used own car and fuel to travel to and from B and B. If they knew about the possibility of fog why did they not put on extra flights to ensure everyone got over. Instead it's cheaper for them to put everyone on the Scillonian but we don't get any refund of the difference in cost. Roll on the helicopter service.
