Izod & Burnip Ltd

Don't know how any one can say a bad word about this place. A staple local independent hardware shop in Southend for decades now. Sells quality products, has staff who know what they are talking about, organised, well run and a really cute cat that potters about.

I love this place, my Dad would shop there, I have done and I'm sure one day my son will too. The type of business a town should be proud of. Or you can go to B&Q and pay for fat cat directors to siphon off profits into offshore tax havens. I wonder what adds more value to the local shopping parade......

You want a handful of screws, some plasterboard fixings, tin of paint or a hammer, last thing you want to do is drive out of town or into a busy high street and spend just as long parking, driving or stuck in the lights.

Though it feels like you've gone back 50 years, this is an amazing shop. If you're doing a random odd job around the house but don't have the right tool/screw/varnish etc. Izod's almost certainly will!

If you only want a couple of nuts, bolts or screws or washers....you can buy individually at Izod and Burnip for a fair price...NO NEED to buy sealed bags as in B&Q at rip off prices....Been using Izod's for almost 30 years! They are a good old fashioned Hardware store...a brilliant shop...we are lucky to still have it!

These people are lovely. They will help you find exactly what you are looking for. They stock all from fire accessories to any length of all sorts of chain.
