Roast beef dinner 😍 Roasts served from noon 😃

User

We were there for a double family celebration. The food was excellent as was the service. Our waitress was lovely and friendly and attentive (but not too much so). She was helpful making sure we ordered the right things to get the weekend treat deal. Very good value for money. The lamb shanks were a big hit. The steak was cooked to taste. Great value for money. This wasn’t our first visit and it won’t be our last.

User

We went for lunch to celebrate our wedding anniversary and found all the staff very pleasant and helpful.

The food was wonderful and just enough for a lunchtime without feeling stuffed. We asked for an alternative and there was no problem with that.

Will recommend to friends and family.

See you again.

We visited the jack rabbit back in may and had a few issues ( we’ve never had a bad meal before). After contacting the general manager, he responded a while later.. He was very apologetic and offered us back and his words were”we will look after you”

Well what can I say, it was my husbands birthday today too, from the time on arriving the duty manager was brilliant, very friendly, the total service, from our waitress to our food was amazing .. our would like to thank everyone of them for our visit today. I can not fault it .. Thankyou everyone we had a 5* service today

User

We stayed and dinned whilst my husband had a back operation in Dereford hospital.

The food was lovely, the choice of menu was versatile, the staff were helpful and very friendly. I particularly liked the decor and funny handwritten quotes within the bar/restaurant areas, and the excellent Fathers day menu with gift options!

I would highly recommend a visit to friends and family.

Thank you for helping to take the edge off our stressful stay in Plymouth having travelled from Falmouth for the op.

User

Tonight we came back for a lovely meal. The service was amazing and food was beautiful. Could not fault it one bit! Thank you for your time and effort. You definitely made it all better! Many thanks xxxx

User

User

I have deleted my previous review and my 1star rating to a 5 star.. customer service was fantastic. The manager called me immediately after reading my previous review and was extremely helpful and understanding. My bank will be returning my payment shortly.

Ref to the overpriced salad my daughter has been offered a free meal next time she visits..

5 stars for customer service..Thankyou

User

Quick service and friendly staff. We didn't book but we're still seated. The chicken was a little over cooked and no new potatoes but everything else was perfect and the kids really enjoyed it to. Will definitely visit again.

User

Excellent vegan menu with several choices for each course. not cheap but nevertheless both venue and food very nice. toilets are on first floor so not so easy if have any mobility issues and dont have radar key for the ground floor disabled toilet. parking is a third party and limited to 3 hours with hefty fine if go over.

User

Popped in for lunch on Tuesday - my glazed hock was delicious also the carrots the mash was a bit watery but as I am not a big potato eater I wasn't too bothered. My husband had Hunters chicken - the chicken was very dry but the gammon excellent. Deserts & Coffee fine - all in all an OK experience but not as good as it used to be.

User

Visiting family in the neighbourhood so was a handy place to eat for us all. VERY short staffed, lots of items sold out in the menu and after 3rd choice the food that arrived was poor, not enough chips in the portion size and had to request more. 1 meal out of 4 was ok! Tables outside were not cleared quickly and we had to chase the seagulls away.

One bar person didn’t know how to serve standard drinks and had to request glasses to go with the wine. The other lady was better and apologetic for the lack of “everything”.

Sadly I won’t be rushing back which is a shame as could be a nice place if the management took interest.

User

Visited for an early Mother’s Day lunch. Had to stand around waiting for someone to show us to our reserved table and then at least 30 minutes until we went and found someone to take our order as no one was around. Ended up buying crisps to tide us over. Food was pretty quick once we had ordered. Food was average. Some people liked their meal, some peoples food was full of fat and small portion size . Again at the end of the meal no one was around.

User

Lovely pub but poor service and value for money. Stood at the bar for a few minutes before staff member could lift her head from fiddling with the till screen although no other customers were there. Next visit to bar manager noticed me and served me but a queue of three

Had built up by this time. Food arrived 35 minutes later £11.50 for a mediocre chicken breast, minute gammon, and no more than a handful of chips, all cold, three mouthfuls confirmed This was after I had pointed out latecomers had received their meals before me so mine had been sitting somewhere for an indeterminate time. After complaining I declined a fresh meal and asked for my money back As Promised manager arrived at my table, plonked down £11.50 on a plate, and said ‘sorry about that’. Appalling.

Pub did not seem busy so can only assume staff shortage. Or is this considered acceptable?

User

I came here today as a belated Mothers Day lunch. The food was only warm. I had pork so hope I don't have any ill effects. My daughter in law sent hers back to the kitchen as nothing was hot. Felt we couldn't send ours back as well so just had a lukewarm roast. Was very disappointed it spoilt my family time.

User

Been twice and both times their roasts were poor quality for the price. Toby carvery was much better and much cheaper. Shame because the Mrs loves the pie.

User

Visited the Jack Rabbit on Sunday afternoon and was very disappointed. Have been many times in the past but not for a while and always thought it was ok. The service was very lack lustre, was told when I ordered pork that it was more like gammon (which I hate as a roast meat) so I ordered turkey instead. My partner ordered pork anyway and we had an extra side of cauliflower cheese. The food arrived and guess what the pork looked and tasted like pork and not gammon, so we swapped!! 5 minutes later when we were asked how our food was, we hadn't started, we asked where the cauliflower cheese was!! Thank goodness for it as it was the only thing on the plate that ended up being hot. The Yorkshire pudding was flat and stone cold. We would have stayed for desserts but to be honest by that time, with a screaming child for entertainment somewhere behind us we'd had enough. Definitely wouldn't recommend for Sunday lunch. Looked a lot better than it actually was.

User

Visited on Saturday 10th March for a family birthday for 9. Was ignored on entry and left waiting to be seated for 5 minutes. The whole evening was shocking to be honest. Staff were clueless, service was very poor and we never got what we ordered with anything.Booked for 9 people table layed for 8, ordered drinks and waitress wrote down the order but were still given wrong drinks, food ordered and starters were missing, main courses sent out wrong and 1 was cold and sent back. Definitely wouldn't recommend the place. Over 3 hours we were there for 2 course meal.

User

Popped in for spare of the moment roast dinner. Stood at the bar for 5 mins before even being acknowledged even though a bar staff member was taking to a colleague for most of it. Being seated wasn't a issue as we had booked, ordered 4 roast dinners, 1 lamb and 3 turkey. Turkey diners came out all inconsistent, only 1 plate had the sausage and stufffing, one of the 3 had 2 pieces of meat, the others had 3, one plate had 2 roast potatoes, the others had 3. Lamb was lovely but the turkey was very dry and needed the gravy. Staff cleared the table quickly and took desert menu but took nearly 20 mins for easy puds. Food was a 3/5, service a 2/5, was it worth £82??? Not really. Wouldn't take much to get it great and can't use the excuse of being busy as they were not maxed out.

User

It was my birthday and I invited 10 of my family and friends to celebrate my birthday

Some didn't like the food full stop . The set meals were not available and no alternative and to top it off my sweet still had the contents of the wrapping embedded in it .

After several attempts to get the manager to come to see us eventually she came and listened to our complaints she gave us all 30% off our meals and gave me a bottle of prosecco .

Apart from that I had a lovely evening with my family and friends I will not be recommending the Jack rabbit
