Well I quickly checked that I wasn't on the bill for either of the nights that got a questionable review - phew !

I love this gig - it's not the easiest room but I must have done it 15 times over the years and never had a bad night - now I'm tempting providence, of course. It's a fun night out for both comics and comedy fans. Audiences can be a bit lively (and occasionally bawdy) but it is all in good humour. Common sense suggests having a couple of drinks before you arrive - it is a night club so (unsurprisingly) booze ain't cheap !

I never fail to be impressed by the line ups they attract. you get a pro compère, a pro opening act (always the toughest spot), an "up and coming" middle act and a top circuit closer - the sort you get closing at the store, glee etc. Best place to sit is three rows back, right in the middle.

Sometimes feisty but always fun. People come from all over the country to be at this club, it's that good. Always busy and often sold out so get tickets early.

User

Quality night out, had a couple of drinks during the show then on to the bar next door, was a bit quiet to start with but got going later.

User

Love doing this gig, possibly as I'm a lady comedian and I can be as cheeky as I like to the audience and it's always a great laugh. Really good atmosphere and great value for money.

User

I love performing at Jaggers Comedy Club because the intelligent audience is made up of people from many parts of Britain, as well as locals from Bournemouth. The people who run the gig are supportive and genuinely love comedy. The room is almost always packed, and the sound and lighting is set up by a professional. And the dressing room is fabulous!

User

Great fun. I would recommend a visit. Fantastic interaction with the crowd. Thanks for a great birthday night . Jacqueline

User

Great fun evening. Friendly staff. Haven't laughed that much for a long time.

User

Can be the most boisterous comedy night in the country. Heckle at your peril! Really friendly staff, lots of circuit greats and some ace fresh new comedians too. A great night out for parties, hen dos, and couples looking for a cracking start to a night out. I enjoy myself every time I play it.

User

Broke my comedy club virginity here and it was a fantastic night. Well worth the money for admission. Was a night filled with laughter and the acts were all amazing.

Will definitely be coming back.

User

Always lively, generally lovely and never the same twice, Jaggers is a fun comedy venue to play; and audience and acts alike have a good, up-for-it attitude. Chairs are only ever thrown in jest. Never knowingly undersexed. Give it a bash - I always do. xNfMx

User

The show was fun, however being the first time out was impossible to understand where the place was. No signs and the name outside doesn't even match. Could have avoided the loud DJ music after the breaks too. The presenter wasn't particularly funny and mainly made jokes about the audience. The comedians were very funny though.

User

Went last night, first act was brilliant but unfortunately it went downhill after that. I won't get personal, I don't think it's fair, but some of the jokes were borderline inappropriate and there seemed to be a fixation with the hen party at the front. Great for them but not so funny if you are a few rows back. I must add, the last act certainly had a great way about him and some great impressions, but all in all a bit gutted that this cost us £40.

User

Very smelly venue with a sticky floor !!

Comedians were good 😊

Drinks very over priced

User

I have to agree with the previous review that I too was very disappointed with tonight's show. The compere was very poor and not funny in the slightest. It was awkward and at sometimes just embarrassing. The headline act was very funny and saved the show but I definitely wouldn't recommend this to anyone nor would I come back again, which is sad because it had the potential to be such a good evening.

User

Hmmm. Not normally one for negative feedback but Sat 2nd was a particularly awful experience. The first act was beyond bad, very uncomfortable to watch. In fairness the 2nd and 3rd acts were good and managed to redeem some of the evening. Does this club vet it's acts? Should've done their homework on act number 1, he should not have been given a platform.

User

What a joke! £18.50 in for second rate comedians and warm, overpriced drinks. £4.80 for a 330ml Stella bottle! At 7pm? That's nightclub prices at 1am in the morning! My girlfriend had a bottle of Chenin Blanc which was warm, complained to the bar staff and he asked his manager who offered an ice cube! When I said 'you don't put ice in wine' the barman said 'it's not my problem'! NOT HIS PROBLEM?! What a classic!!

And the smell of the place! Do you have it piped in?? Sweaty feet?

Had to give it 1 star as ZERO wasn't an option!

User

We went to Jaggers bournemouth for a stag do last night, by far the worst comedy venue and comedians I've ever seen.we had an awful view from where we were sat, there was a pillar covering half the stage! Awful comedians, no control of the audience who were talking and on phones throughout.
