Last week we had the pleasure of hosting Paul Mcfadyen the ambassador of Pierre Ferrand talking all things cognac.
Paul has enough knowledge to astound Stephen Fry and a smile that would win over any disgruntled traffic warden.

This beautiful drink is a twist on the contemporary classic Trailer Trash created by Declan Mcgurk the bar manager of the American Bar at the Savoy.
Adam and Declan worked together 12 years ago and this is Adam’s take on this luscious libation.
... Using plantation pineapple rum, wray and nephew, guava juice, cacao, velvet falernum, passionfruit and citrus.

Went to Jake’s before it even opened and they found a torture chair in the cellar next door to Oporto. It got even better once it actually opened as a bar. great cocktails, great staff.

This place is incredible, one of the best in Leeds, the staff and management are friendly and helpful and it will always be my favourite place when I go back to Leeds

Nothing but love for this bar and the amazing staff! Fantastic venue which whenever I have visited has had a huge mix of people in from all different backgrounds and orientation with nothing but good drinks and love from all the staff. I couldn’t recommend this bar enough.

Jakes bar was the first bar in Leeds I've ever visited. Two words for you: fuck me! Not only were the staff absolute tens but the drinks made me wet my knickers. Never had such a minge leaking experience! Alex (Morton?) maybe? Never got his name after our night of intense passion, love of my FUCKING life. If he sees this tell him to give me a shout. If I could walk after such a mental orgasm I'd return. Would definitely recommend to a friend.

Jakes bar is one of my all time fav bars in Leeds! I enter and I'm greeted by the glorious talented staff who know how to make drinks! Being fed jäger and shots by the staff is a brilliant way to spend your night! Keep it up and yas!

Jake's Bar, what a place. The first bar I went to in Leeds and immediately fell in love with it. Great place, amazing bartenders and the banter is of the bartenders is even better.



Great for dates too, best wingmen in the city. And really good for a night out too. The place is so good I ended up getting a tattoo of it on a drunk night out.

This media storm brought by a poorly written BBC news article is ridiculous, a door policy is there for safety reasons and that’s it. Maybe review the way in which people are dealt with and spoken to at the door but don’t compromise the safety of patrons inside. Any idiot who has been in Jake’s can see it would be incredibly hard to remove aggressive trouble makers from inside.



Now we have MP Alex Sobel trying to fan the fire. What a disgrace. Local elections coming up?

Absolutely incredible staff, music, drinks - heck the Jäger cocktail is absolutely Klas! Last but not least, the crowd and atmosphere is just amazing! Shout out to the door staff for that- honestly guys. It's 2018! Get over yourselves. Everyone just wants to have a good time! They're just trying to have a diverse and balanced crowd so that there won't be any boisterous behaviour. AAAND Guys complain about a place being a cockfest and they lash-back with some idiotic comment about not being let in... quite mind boggling!!



People just get TRIGGERED sooo easily now a days. SMH.

AMAZING BAR! Friendliest doorstaff on the Lane, atmosphere inside is always perfect making it a comfortable environment to let your hair down and have a boogie, unlike many other bars in Leeds that are rowdy with fights left right and centre. On Saturday night me and a group of my friends (4 girls, 5 guys) approached Jake's Bar and were stopped by a bouncer who asked us who was part of the group. We were then told ‘’sorry we’re at absolute full-capacity”. Thought this was a bit weird as I’ve been going to Jakes for years and have never had this issue at that time of the evening. Regardless, we accepted this, respecting the fact that of course you have a duty to protect people's safety. However, as we were walking away a group of around 5 girls came from behind us and walked straight in, straight past the bouncer, no questions asked. Understandably, we were confused since we had just been turned away due to “absolute full-capacity”. When I asked the bouncer about this, questioning whether the fact we had males in our group meant that we were turned away, the bouncer was unable to give me and answer and instead just told me that my attitude was “disgraceful”. Can someone please give me a legitimate and logical explanation for why a group of girls would have priority over a group of mixed gender individuals at your bar? If you fail to give me an answer I can only assume that it’s because you want to have a maximum amount of females in your club with a limited number of males like some kind of weird ancient courting ritual where guys have a larger pool of girls to admire and “pick from” with less males around to make them feel intimated and competitive.

When will Jake's Bar learn that they cannot exclude people based on their sexuality OR GENDER?

I was queuing for 20minutes to get in with my mum last night and we were told that we have to go back at the queue if we want to get in whilst they were keep letting people in. Firstly I kindly asked why but got no answer. Me and my mum both speaking polish so I felt and still feel like it was a racist offence!! I couldn’t enjoy the night and still feel very stressed and anxious. I was keep asking bouncers about their names but they were ignoring me and saying they will call the police!! Stay away from this place where they treating you like a sh**!!!
