The care I had recently at the hospital was the best I could have wished for. The staff on Ward 4 worked so hard and I am very grateful to everyone. While in theatre I counted 10 personnel and a one to one in the recovery room. The staffing level was amazing. Everyone on the ward had very kind service in nursing and nothing was too much trouble for those serving meals and beverages. Well done to the catering, the food was very tasty. I feel privileged to have had such a pleasant experience which has improved my feeling of being a more normal me. Thank you everyone.

Spent a good deal of September in JP and have been so impressed with the care given. I've stayed on the Charnwood suite, Ward 4 and Ward 5 and have had dealings with ultrasound department (twice) who were just lovely and so reassuring. I also had two MRIs and again, the staff were kind and reassuring. I've also had dealings with the photography department, A&E on two occasions, the surgical team and the breast care team and breast care nurses, along with the surgical day care unit on Monday of this week. The care given by all the above mentioned departments and staff has been first class and I cannot fault them in any way. All staff from the surgeons to the nurses, healthcare assistants and tea ladies has been amazing. Thank you all!

After being referred by my GP to the Orthopaedics department for a suspected torn knee ligament, I had an MRI Scan and an Ultrasound procedure before meeting a consultant to discuss treatment. This resulted in a decision to have an Arthroscopy which took place yesterday, 06/09/2017. I opted for a spinal block anaesthetic and watched the surgery on a TV monitor while the surgeon explained what was happening. Neither the administering of the anaesthetic nor the surgery itself were in any way painful, in fact could only be described as a mild discomfort and I am certain this was because of the expertise of the staff involved. Such was the expertise of the surgeon that when the anaesthetic wore off in the afternoon and I returned home I did not need any painkillers and slept perfectly well. Today I am gradually reestablishing my mobility following a list of suggested exercises.
Throughout this experience I can not praise the staff I encountered too highly - at every juncture they made certain I felt looked after and treated with every courtesy. The Day Care unit where I spent ten hours was spotlessly clean and comfortable and the staff overwhelmingly friendly and attentive to my needs.
Yes, the NHS is underfunded, the staff underpaid and overworked but, in my experience, the staff at JPH should be rightly proud of the superb service they are providing. Thank you.

Whilst on our family holiday, my partner visited The James Pages Hospital on Wednesday 16th August 2017, following a call to NHS 111 who advised to seek medical attention within the next hour. He was experiencing pain, muscle and joint weakness, dizziness, hot and cold sweats, tremors, reduced urination, very dark urine, lethargy and episodes of confusion and agitation leading to mildly aggressive behaviours.
After waiting two hours (standard waiting time), my partner was seen and prescribed medication for back pain within five minutes. No observations were taken ( blood pressure, temperature, pulse etc).
On returning home, my partner sought medical attention from his own G.P. A thorough examination took place, showing a raised temperature with bloods taken for analysis. His CRP results indicates abnormal levels. Whilst awaiting the results from further tests, my partner has been diagnosed with acute transient hepititis. There was also no record on the NHS system of any conclusions made by the G.P who saw my partner at The James Pages Hospital.

My mother was admitted to A&E in the early hours of Saturday morning with what turned out to be a chest infection. The ambulance crew were first rate and I couldn't believe the speed and efficiency of the A&E staff...bloods were taken straight away and she was put on a nebuliser. A doctor saw her within 30 minutes and she was sent for a x ray. The chest infection was diagnosed immediately and two iv antibiotics were administered along with a dose of steroids. The doctor returned to tell us that she could leave along with steroids and antibiotics. The lady on reception phoned a taxi for us and we were back at our hotel before breakfast.
We were only on holiday in the area but I cannot praise enough the treatment my mother received...this appears to be an outstanding hospital.

Another visit to the Endoscopy Suite, Excellent. Fast, courteous, kind treatment by all staff members. No undue waiting and kept fully informed of the treatment I was receiving all through the procedure.
A credit to the NHS and it's staff. Many thanks to all.

Visited hospital can honestly say one of the worst this hospital needs a good clean it's appalling dust everywhere as well as dirt things have been spilt and obviously have been left ............... I witnessed someone collapse in waiting room and took at least five minutes before people got to her ....... I for one think the hospital needs to re evaluate its staffing cleaning team and all around care.

Went to A&E at JPH with my ex-husband, he received prompt courteous and very caring treatment not only from A&E staff but from the Paramedics who took him in. We can find much to criticise but it is so important to praise when treatment is good. Thank you to all staff involved today. It made a real difference in what has been a very difficult time.
