My teenage son and I went to have dinner one evening and we were both impressed with how many families were there with their kids- most around 5. Great place for little kids to eat. The staff did not seemed too bothered with the noise they were making (neither did we, as they were just being kids). So well done, for catering for kids and families with great food!

Impromptu lunch and was recommended the special ‘seafood Linguine’ which we both had and was delicious with so much seafood including Octopus 🐙. Lovely buzz and atmosphere on a Saturday lunch time and staff were very attentive and quick, highly recommend!

Had a wonderful time at Jamie's. I'm a Coeliac and right from the start they were on the ball. We were greeted and I was immediately asked if I would like to see gluten free options (they must have made a note against our booking). We were seated and the hostess went through what was gluten free and what you could tweak to make gluten free. Our waitress was so lovely, appropriately attentive and really friendly. We felt really welcome (not always the case when you go to some restaurants with a dietary requirement) We wish we could remember her name so we could mention her. Food was lovely, I particularly liked that I was able to share a starter with my husband, we had the meat platter. We had steaks and they organised pan fried funky chips for me to ensure they were gluten free. I really enjoyed the Panna Cota for dessert. We had chosen the house red to drink but we're informed due to issues in Sicily there was no availability. Having been to Sicily in August we knew about the dreadful fires and understood. The waitress recommended a similar priced wine which we really enjoyed. We had booked cinema tickets and found the service to be efficient and got there in time. A really lovely atmosphere, will definitely go again.

First time here as we were at the University for an open day and thought we would check out the town. My daughter and l love pizza so couldn’t resist stopping here. It wasn’t too busy so got seated straight away. We didn’t have to wait long before we were eating the most delicious pizza. Good choice of drinks as they don’t really serve fizzy drinks which was ideal for us both. The waiter that served us was also extremely helpful so all in all a fantastic experience and would recommend.

I was a "Virgin Experience" customer and made my booking several months ago. They new everything! Being "older" I was explained the procedure and what I was entitled to. It was brilliant, the service and food were amazing and I noticed the facility was well worn but it did not matter one little bit. Definitely go back again and work my way through the menu!

But...... Only complaint is we were seated downstairs and it was freezing cold due to the front door being opened and closed (it was 1oC outside). Would seriously suggest putting a curtain up or something to keep the heat in. Several couples complained about the cold and moved tables and our food was cooling down quicker than we’d like.

Food was good, other half loved the Italian nachos and dipping sauce and his carbonara pizza!

Please fix the door situation!

Went there yesterday. The restaurant, service and food was ok but not outstanding. We had Jamie 's favourite dessert and asked to swap whipped cream for ice cream. They did finally but it seemed like it was a big issue and they mentioned three times that " we don't normally do it". I didn' t have mind if they had charged for it or something but I didn't understand making fuss about it. At least main course was tasty and the place was surprisingly cheap.

There for my birthday lunch .Staff lovely but food was not what I expected. The crispy squid was plate full fried flour. Staff were happy to swap it for something new. The rest of the dishes were ok. So we did dessert somewhere else didn't want to be disappointed.

Its been great atmospehere and the manager of the restaurant ( couldnt catch a name) was an absolut star! I was slightly dissapointed with the meals. I had a meat platter with a piece of bread...bread tasted I am sorry to say this like it was there for weeks. Very hard texture. The rabbit pasta ; you could only taste yhe cheese in it whilst I was expecting plenty of herbs as it sais. Dessert was fine. My partner who is a chef was really dissapointed but thanks to the service we got 2 bottles of wine on the bar. Thanks guys !

Friendly staff. Very helpful and cheerful. But food was very average. Won’t be going back any time soon. Disappointed really as had high hopes for the place.

Food is rather good but not exceptional. Affordable. Decor not of my taste.

Have been three times since September, the first time it was very busy and had to wait ages at each stage from being seated to paying the bill. Yesterday was not busy but still nobody was there to take us to a table. Oh and every time I have been I had to change my shirt afterwards, they dont seem to have the time to clean the tables.

Would I go again? Definately.

Second visit yesterday and what a difference! Our first visit was earlier in the evening a couple of weeks ago whilst the restaurant was very quiet. The service was impeccable and the food was good

Yesterday we were crammed into a busy restaurant, the waitress was obviously very busy and although we were served fairly politely the finesse from our first experience was missing. We were served 'rushed' and not followed up regarding our requirements or whether the food was to our liking. My starter of the mushroom fritti (which I repeated from my first visit as so delicious) was like rubber and cold. I was only asked after I had left the majority of it upon collection of our starters how my food was. The cost was removed from the final bill but I was bitterly disappointed after my initial experience. The moral of this is - do not visit during busy periods - the restaurant can't cope and the food suffers. My main meal was passable but not hot - I won't be hurrying back soon sadly - even as a Gold Member!

Really don't want to be mean but you have to provide some feedback! Atmosphere was ok and the staff were friendly, but we had to put up with a chandelier being lowered and then raised for reasons unknown, which made an awful racket! I'm gluten free personally and the restaurant did make an effort to say what I could have but there is no gluten free food menu, which is standard in most places now! The restaurant then forgot to add chips to my plate for the steak order. My friends portion of Lettuce and bacon in her burger was tiny too! Didn't stand out in taste either! They apologised and offered a discount at least though which should be mentioned!

User

Oh dear, such high expectations, really let down by bland, uninspired food and 'odd' service, staff polite and friendly, just all a bit haphazard, sorry to say that will be my only visit

Went there yesterday. It meant to be a lovely restaurant but it turn out rubbish.

I ordered pasta with rabbit and honestly could hardly see any rabbit in it!!! It was absolutely tasteless and the size of the portion was not valued the money I paid. It was 8 of us and 4 ordered rabbit and they were really disappointed as well. The service was so not bad but the water which we were given at the begging was absolutely horrible, the smell of her was shocking. We asked to have it changed but had to wait 15 minutes and had to tell the waiter twice God knows why when the restaurant was half empty. We were really disappointed with the food knowing James is a really good cook but sorry the food had no taste at all !!!!

User

The service was great and the staff were wonderful but my god the food is average at best... VERY dissapointed considering the name above the door.

Me and my girlfriend Visited yesterday for lunch, we waited about 30min to be seated which was fine as we where told there was a wait.

Once We were seated we then had to wait 15min to be given a menu and we even had to ask for it our selfs. We then had to ask to have our order taken at which point the waitress didn't say a word, she just wrote the order down and walked off. We had to ask for more drinks, then the food order turned up wrong!

The only time the waitress was talking and being friendly was at bill time, I did not tip, so she then threw my card and receipt on the table walked off and didn't say a word!!

We should of gone to Nando's!
