We went yesterday for the first time and we were blown away. the whole experience from start to finish was fabulous. The food, the service e, the ambience was truly fabulous, love this place !

User

Thanks to Sophie who served us for the superb customer service. The food was fab too. Good luck to all the team for the future. Can't fault today's visit at all.

First visit to Jamie's but it certainly won't be our last ... welcomed into a modern feel open kitchen setting by Jem.. he looked after us throughout the evening bringing food and drinks along at just the right speed. Nothing was too much trouble and he described the different dishes .. just so I could work out what to choose in advance. The menu is great

.. full of choice.. The food ... well to be honest I was expecting the food to be nice but I wasn't expecting exceptional ... the food from starters to dessert had my tastebuds dancing..... we're we talking about the lovely evening we'd enjoyed the following day? You bet

Credit where credit it due. I had a really poor experience for our Xmas do. Last night I was invited for my god daughters birthday meal and I was nervous. It was totally different experince last night. The service was spot on. The staff made a fuss of the kids. Food lovely - thank you

We went last night for my birthday, i did exspect alot more with being a very high chef. The food was amazing but the over all building was shocking paines of glass missing ceiling needed painting the lighting is so poor we had to get a torch out to see the menu, the amount of times they messed up our drinks order

User

We ate here on Thursday night for the first time in this branch and as a massive Jamie Oliver fan we were not disappointed the staff were friendly and helpful offering to change the taster to cater for my food allergy

My husband had the meatball pizza off the specials menu and said it was the best pizza he had ever eaten (he has eaten the ones off the main menu in other restaurants and enjoyed them aswell) I had the pork milanese which was also delicious

We have now eaten in 10 of Jamie’s Italians restaurants and this was definitely one of our favourites

We will definitely revisit next time we are in Harrogate

User

Service was excellent, starter tagliatelle was awesome. Mains were cooked to perfection but didn’t rate the bed of veg the steak was sat on and the steak was lacking a sauce. I would definitely go again but it wasn’t that special apart from my starter and the service

User

The staff were excellent .The place was much more quieter and civilised compared to the Manchester branch.

Some of the portions were smaller than expected. Liver pate on bruschetta was one slice.

We had ordered bread so we thought small portions after a starter would be perfect

The portions were very small

And we were hungry when we left.

We did not have a pudding.

User

I was expecting more from this place, food was ok, but we'd been to an independent Italian during our stay which was amazing and cost less. We received our starter before our drinks, the mains were ok, ordered sweets and a drink (lemonade), the drink came when we'd finished our sweets, it has so much ice in like a cocktail and no straw so you can't drink it... when I asked for one it seemed a bit of a strange request, even though our first ones had them.

When another couple left, they paid with cash and I heard the waitress say "are you wanting your change?" it was expected that they wouldn't. Another couple hadn't received any food by the time we had our sweets!

In all, I can understand why we couldn't book into the other big name Italian in Harrogate!

User

Went there yesterday for my son's 16th birthday. His pizza and friends pasta OK but OMG my burger was awful. Burger plain with no seasoning whatsoever, the brioche bun stale, side of skinny chips were that skinny you could barely see them I have had better burgers in MacDonald's. Never again, plus waiting staff did not once ask if everything OK plus waiting for the waiter to take our dessert order was a joke, we waited nearly 30 minutes and it wasn't busy.

User

We visited yesterday evening, had to wait at the bar and were initially unimpressed by the unfriendly bar staff. Moved upstairs where it was freezing! Sat in an empty room.

Food was good although they didn’t have the desert I wanted. The waitress was keen to offer water with our meal which we later realised added £8 to our bill-I complained to the staff who shrugged it off agreeing it was unreasonable.

We won’t be going again.

User

The starter was okay to be fair but the main course wasn’t my wife had a ravioli which was over cooked and I chose a pizza which was under cooked it was still doughy and the tomato topping was wish washy to say the least it was supposed to be a meatball pizza if your saying that then I expect to get a decent amount of meatballs on top and I didn’t I felt it was over priced for the standard of food we got clearly a case of trading on a name I would say it was disappointing I am sad to say

User

So disappointed tonight!

Previous visits have been spot on but not today’s!

My sons burger came out and it basically resembled a piece of coal on a roll!

I quickly brought this to the attention of our waitress and she apologised and said she would get a replacement which left my son with nothing while we all had our pastas, his burger arrived after 10 minutes when we were all finished ours and by this point he was quite past eating it,he ate half and left the rest!

Safe to say we won’t be in any hurry to be back when we come back to Harrogate!

User

Nothing wrong with the food but service is p*** poor! Restaurant 3/4 empty but still had to wait a while to be seated. Shown to a dirty table and food on the seats. Come time to pay the bill the staff had to play "hunt the card machine" as it was nowhere to be found.

I think if Jamie Oliver visited this restaurant he would see why his businesses are struggling. Gino DiCampo's place across the road for us next time.

User

I’m not normally one to complain but I was really disappointed with our first visit here. Sadly it didn’t live up to expectations. Whilst the food was tasty, my friend’s portion was quite small. The restaurant itself had a good vibe and the staff were pleasant. We were sat upstairs overlooking the downstairs which was nice but we also looked down on a mountain of dust collecting on the ceiling girders. I think the thing that really spoiled it though, was getting charged an extortionate £4.35 for half a lager!

User

What can I say, worst service I think I have experienced in a restaurant and that was for a 5pm booking so I dread to think what it's like in the evening during prime service time. Jamie Oliver really should check out what he is putting his name too. In a town like harrogate where there are so many restaurants they really need to up their game. Anybody looking for reviews for an Italian in Harrogate, avoid at all costs! Ginos across the road is 100x better.

Went here on New Years Eve at lunch time and I must admit the staff were uninterested - standing about chatting to each other - they don't get paid to stand about chatting with each other they are meant to be working. Food was over expensive and not good at all. My main course was freezing and I had to walk over to the staff chatting with the plate and tell them it was freezing in order that it could be taken back to the kitchen. Food reheated in the microwave I expect. Tasteless and disappointing. I definitely would never visit another Jamie's Italian and would not recommend. The Restaurant was absolutely filthy/disgusting.

May be the staff standing about doing nothing could have had a clean up. Over-rated and if I could have given a poorer score like -10 I would have.

User

Oh dear Jamie, not so pucka tonight.

0. The rating I would like to leave but the minimum I can select is 1.

1. Food - 2 main courses that were bland and unrecognisable. Had we been blindfolded when tasting we both agreed we would not be able to recognise what we were eating .

I had polenta chips as a side (£4) which never resembled a chip in any shape or form.

2. Decor - dusty and rather tired looking, needs a revamp. Had to use my mobile phone to see what the menu said as seated in a very dark corner next to the toilets.

3. Pricing - very expensive for what was a deep fried pork schnitzel and a very small lasagne. The 'Greens' consisted of black olives and cabbage ?? Very green ? And at £4.00 for a small dish, appalling prices.

4. Staff - polite, but I wasn't very impressed watching one member of staff testing the food temperature by putting his hand in the food, deciding it passed the temp test, then served it to unsuspecting customers.

5. Overall - get a grip Jamie, I can't believe you let your name sit on the front of such a place.

6. Atmosphere - no music of any sort meant very little atmosphere.

7. Anyone tried Gino's, which is directly across the road ?

User

I was excited to come across a Jamie's in Harrogate and was surprised to find it empty at teatime. I persuaded my husband to take me in because I'd always wanted to visit and there was a one for two pasta promotion on. Our nibbles of olives was nice and we looked forward to our mains; I chose lasagne and he picked meatballs.

They arrived quickly and my husband commented that he'd seen the chef take it from the fridge. Because of this I stuck my knife straight into the centre. Although it was bubbling around the edges it was lukewarm in the middle. I knew that if I complained they would take it away and my husband would eat alone and then I'd have to do the same. So I decided that I'd just grin and bear it. After a couple of minutes the waiter arrived and asked if everything was ok. My husband said yes and I said nothing. The waiter looked at me and said there is a problem what's wrong. I said that it was not hot in the middle and he said it had to be because it was probed before it left the kitchen. He told me it had to be 75° before they sent it out and no way would it have left the kitchen if it wasn't hot enough. He repeated this several times. As a catering assistant I am well aware of this and I knew he was fobbing me off. He offered to get me another one but I was feeling very uncomfortable at being called a liar and I just wanted to leave by this point.

When we finished he came to give us the bill and said he spoke to the chef who had definitely probed my lasagne and it was hot enough then. He then said as a gesture of goodwill he had taken my meal off the bill and he had..but it was buy one get one free so in actual fact he gave us nothing. Had I not been so humiliated and embarrassed by the whole incident I would have insisted that he brought the probe to the table and tested it in front of me... We both left with a nasty taste in our mouths. Shameful behaviour on the part of the waiter who lied and the chef who didn't probe my dish before he sent it out. You are lucky I didn't get food poisoning. Will never revisit or recommend this place.
