Excellent food, great service and a very casual atmosphere

Friendly staff.we chose lasagne to eat abit dissapointed when I asked what it came with and was told nothing.not even salad. So we had to pay extra for salad etc although lasagne was about 12 pounds. When it came it was lovely.

Fabulous food, and great ambience but the service was quite slow. We waited for someone to bring us menus but it was taking a while so I went to the front area to get one. We ate both lunch and dinner and the slow but friendly service was the same each time. The restaurant was not that busy on either occasion.

We are going to eat here again before we leave London. Sincerely hope the service is better next time.

Excellent food, really enjoyed after I ran my first VLM! Would of given 5* but service was slow! Asked for tom sauce 3 times, wife had to go up in the end!

Went for lunch with my other half as a treat before heading off to watch Adele. We were both really looking forward to sampling the food and soaking in the ambience but were sorely disappointed. The restaurant wasn't busy but the service seemed to be slow. The starter and main were good not great but the thing that really took the shine off the whole experience was the smell of rotten eggs. At first we thought it was come from the toilets so mentioned it to the server and asked to move. It became quite clear that this is a common problems and was advised that it want the toilets but was blamed on an issue with the Westfield shopping complex. The server didn't really offer a solution and advised that if we moved it wouldn't solve the problem. By moving we seemed to upset the server that was looking after us and also the new server who's area we had sat in. The solution by the teams was to avoid the situation rather than to go the extra mile. This definitely killed the mood. Food good, service poor, smell shocking and clearly not a new problem.

Well folks, I would not recommend this particular restaurant in Shepard’s Bush. The food wasn’t bad, but was average, the entree was cold, the burger bun was burnt and the pasta was dry. The waiter had no idea of the menu or what drinks they had available. Overall an average experience.

User

The staff was great but the food was not! Expected more from Jamie's.

The description of the dishes were much better than their execution.

I had Prawn Linguini. The prawns were of the frozen quality and the pasta was a bit dry when it arrived at the table. My partner had Spicy Sausage Papardelle and he was underwhelmed. My daughter had chicken lollipop. I was expecting it to be the chicken drumsticks in the bone, with the bone cleaned to look like a lollipop, but it was just chicken breast on a skewer.

All in all just a bit disappointing.

We we're undecided between Zizzi's and Jamie's. I know what to do next time.

I passed here by chance, and as I enjoyed my evening at the Covent Garden branch a few months back, I decided to have lunch here. I was seated immediately (the service was just starting) and opted for the 11.95£ lunch. They put me next to the open door, but as it wasn't too cold, I didn't mind.

The starter was mussels in a creamy, very runny sauce with a toasted slice of bread. As soon as I saw it, I realised I should have gone for the soup. There wasn't much taste to it at all.

The white wine was lovely, chilled and crisp. When my steak arrived, it was lukewarm, so after 1 bite I sent it back. They offered me a new one, but I was happy to have it heated up a bit, and that's what they did.

The staff was friendly enough, but if this would have been my first encounter with Jamie Oliver, I would not bother to go to any of his restaurants again.

Visited restaurant yesterday with a friend, lunch deal looked interesting and we wanted to taste Jamie's dishes. Waitress was lovely, got us water straight away. I must admit chicken pate as a starter was lovely. Friend ordered salmon pasta and I ordered carbonara. Food didn't look very apetising honestly but here comes worse. There was long dark hair in my pasta (wasn't mine for sure) i've noticed it straight after putting fork in the bowl... Gross... Waitress apologised and said she's gonna bring me another one. So by the time my friend is halfway done with her dish (very basic overpriced spaghetti) i'm getting worst carbonara of life. I could actually taste salt crystals it was sooo salty! At least hairless this time. I love good food that's well seasoned but it was just disgusting. I told the waitress and she offered new dish. I picked gnochci in tomato sauce with mozarella and basil. It was meh, average. Also I was eating it alone ;) . Didn't stay for dessert and we are not going to be going back and we won't be recommending Jamie's Italian at all.

The service was very, very slow and it wasn't that busy. There seemed to be a lot of staff not doing much but when I got someone's attention I was told I had to ask my own waiter, who seemed to be the busiest. I spent a lot of time watching all the staff and couldn't seem them doing much.

My child asked for water and I was charged for bottled water and was not given the option of tap water which othet guests had.

Food was very good though.

User

The service was very slow and busy chatting at the bar rather than attending the customers. The salmon was in such a small quantity that i thought I ordered flavoured pasta rather than the main course. We will surely not come back here.

User

Not surprised Jamie’s is struggling. The pasta was luke warm and the portion size was tiny for £12.50; it was more starter size. We had to wait quite a while between starter and main and suspect the meals were waiting on the side getting cold.

The waiting staff, however, were polite and attentive.

Jamie’s should note that a lot of the vegetarian and vegan dishes had Parmesan on which is not suitable for vegetarians. The vegetarian menu also stating that the same fryers were used for veggie food as meat products - which again makes the veggie menu not suitable for vegetarians.

User

Expected more because of the owner! My pasta was clearly microwaved and very dry. My son's pizza was delivered wrong so my wife and I ate whilst he watched and then we watched him eat. Not ideal when it was my wife's birthday. My wife's sweet potato fries were very undercooked, virtually raw. We got the pizza and fries free without asking. Drinks were expensive, as you'd expect. The overall experience was poor and I will not be taking my family back to one of his restaurants again. For the money, I can get a better experience at a beefeater for less money. The chains like Prezzos and Zizis are far better, at least some off the food is fresh and not microwaved. Won't be going back.

User

Excellent service but lacking attention to detail and the food was pedestrian. Some food cold, some Luke warm. A family meal at the end of a day out should be the finale. Now it is the talking point of our day.

User

we should have gone somewhere else but since we were made to stand and wait for 10 mins at the entrance whilst under staffed restaurant with empty tables were ready, we didn't feel like walking in the heavy rain so decided to stay. The service was slow and all the food we ordered was dry. The pasta got stuck together as if it had been left out for a while. The Bolognese sauce was definitely burnt. We didn't want to stay any longer so we just had to put up with the poor quality food. The waitress was nice but her effort did not make up for what we got in this restaurant. I don't think we would go back there again.

User

very overpriced; service poor and half the menu was unavailable! Will not be going again!!

User

Well, one of the worst italian experiences ever. Waiting for some simple spagetthies with spicy tomato sauce and some prawns. 5-10 minutes eating for more than one hour waiting in a non crwowded restaurant. The tomato sauce was not really a sauce, kind of sticky. I can cook spaghetti with shrimps in tomato sauce better. And I sm nog a cook.

Visited the restaurant yesterday, on recommendation from a friend - the first waiter who seated us "forgot" to give the tourists the SuperLunch-menucards... :-(

Anyway the food was okay, even though I expected a bit more - maybe a bit of seasoning in the kitchen would have made miracles...

Unfortunately my daughter forgot a shoppingbag with purchases worth almost 60£ on your outdoor terrace, when we left. I called the restaurant twice afterwards, when we found out, and I was promised that they would look for it and then call me back, but they never did - whether or not the shoppingbag was found or not, it would have been nice to get a phonecall, so my daughter could get some sort of closure... It was a lot of money for her, and it was a stupid mistake to place the bag under her chair on the floor, I know...

I know about the Greenfell-charity in your restaurant last night and I do understand and empathize with the staff being very busy due to your charity, but then you could at least have returned my call the next morning! :-(

You're welcome to call me back at any time - your staff have my phonenumber...

This is by far the worst restaurant service I have ever received. We where seated straight way and given menus upon arrival as the restaurant was not very busy. no drink orders where taken and we where just left sitting there by ourselves for over 13 minutes. To get service I had to yell at server near by for some service. he then started screaming at me "That it was not his section and he now has to leave his customers to take my order". He did this so loud I think it was to make a point that he can talk louder than me. The food came and to be fair it did taste very good, maybe a bit on the cold side. when the bill arrived we where over charged by a bottle of wine and the manager on duty barley apologised when he took it off. If you must try this restaurant out I do not recommend the one in Westfield's Shepard's Bush as this by far is the worst experience I have ever had
