What an awesome day for strong women!! Have you heard?!
1. a historic 'legal' day in that it's the first day ever the Supreme Court is hearing a case with a majority of female judges (and they're hearing an equality case, no less!); and
2. Zoe Ball is announced to succeed Chris Evans as the first ever female presenter of the BBC Breakfast Show!
... We also have a majority of women in our firm, both qualified and not, bucking the trend that all law firms are full of stuffy middle-aged men. Who knew.
Also, the woman in the photo, is one of our awesome female clients, Laura Jones of Monix Adventures (www.monixadventures.com) last year as part of her ICANRUN7 - 7 marathons on 7 continents including this one, the finish line of the Everest Marathon!

This evening, a big cohort of our team are walking the 'London Legal Walk' - a 10km walk across the capital, raising vital funds for a charity, London Legal Support Trust, who in turn help people in need get the legal advice they otherwise couldn't afford.

Will you be paying your junior staff enough, after 1 April 2017?
From next month, the national living wage for workers aged 25 and over increases from ┬Ż7.20 to ┬Ż7.50 per hour in accordance with the National Minimum Wage (Amendment) Regulations.
The following minimum wage increases will also take effect from that date:... -for workers aged 21 to 24: from ┬Ż6.95 to ┬Ż7.05 per hour; -for 18 to 20-year-olds: from ┬Ż5.55 to ┬Ż5.60 per hour; -for 16 to 17-year-olds: from ┬Ż4.00 to ┬Ż4.05 per hour; and -the apprentice rate increases from ┬Ż3.40 to ┬Ż3.50 per hour.

A fantastic evening's employment seminar and drinks, with many thanks to Littleton Chambers!
