Wow, what a fantastic meal! We went to Jasper's for our anniversary. I had seafood risotto followed by raspberry and cointreau bread and butter pudding. My husband had beef medallions followed by rhubarb, berry and honey crumble. Everything was superb. Setting is intimate and cosy, staff friendly. Can't fault it. Just wish we lived nearer.

User

What's to say.....my birthday and a really great night with excellent food and wine and first class service..... Chicken Livers for me as the starter and my wife had anti pasta with the surprise of the night the Marmite butter! The mains were just as delicious. Thanks for a great evening.

Went to Jaspers for a celebratory dinner, after the national sport kite championships where we became national champions. Food was absolutely superb; haven't had such a delicious meal at a restaurant for a long long time! Louise was the perfect hostess, cheerful, friendly and attentive. And it appeared the world is a small place ... Can't recommend highly enough!

User

We went to Jaspers to celebrate my 40th as we wanted something a little different and special.

When we arrived we were met by the chef/owner who was enthusiastic and excited about the good he was cooking. He was extremely polite and made us feel so welcome.

We ordered the scallops, belly pork and black pudding for starters they were perfectly cooked and flavoursome. They were beautiful and certainly special.

We ordered the risotto and bouillabaisse for our main meals they were absolutely jam packed with a mixture of seafood including crab claws, clams, mussels, langoustine, fish and more. It was strongly flavoured and fun to eat. We thoroughly enjoyed.

For dessert we ordered the crumbles......absolutely beautiful fruity, crispy crumble with delicious custard.

All in all Jaspers has a beautiful cosy setting with friendly attentive staff and beautifully cooked food that is special. Thank you for also making my 40th special.

Was there last night for an anniversary meal, the food was amazing haven't had a meal this good in a lot of years so well done Ryan you are doing a fabulous job as is the rest of your staff. Can't wait to come back and sample some more of your lovely food.

Tucked away in this fishing town we saw the Pretty hanging baskets surrounding Jasper`s Bistro window and easily found parking in the side street, on entering we found the decor delightful befitting a Bistro. With options on the Menu for Steak as well as many Fish dishes , and a Varied wine list, we enjoyed a bottle of wine, unfortunately for unforeseen reasons we were not able to stay. Our waiter and the Chef included, were understanding and very helpful, we have no hesitation in recommending Jasper`s Bistro.

User

Once again our food was fantastic thank you Ryan, the staffs attention to detail second to none ,always feel spoilt after leaving.

I had a loverly wine which I can't remember the name it was a newzealand white wine . ( can you message me its name if you have time please

Jaspers Bistro is very welcoming with a unique menu. Ryan was more than happy to show us the seafood before it was cooked and the picture of meals prior to ordering. The atmosphere was very relaxed and service was prompt. All dishes were cooked to perfection. The banoffee dessert was delightful! We will be back 😀

I went for dinner with a friend and was very pleased with the experience. The service was excellent the food was delicious and the atmosphere was perfect. They were very attentive from the moment we walked in the door. I would certainly recommend.

Have known the chef/proprietor for years since he ran the work's canteen (sorry! restaurant) and his food was good then. He has now excelled himself. Yes the prices might seem a tad expensive but well worth it. Food cooked to order and starters can become mains if preferred. Had the seafood paella and was suitably messy with it. Sue had beef medallions - she usually has meat well done but was advised to have it medium - good advice. Will return.

User

Had a meal here recently and you can really tell the quality of having a decent chef who has cooked locally sourced food to perfection. The team have also taken time to create a brilliant atmosphere with good music and comfortable surroundings. I would definitely recommend Jasper's for a meal to remember and it's definitely perfect for a special occasion.

Had a lovely vegetarian meal at Jaspers yesterday; the butternut squash lasagne was just out of this world and made from scratch. My partner Pete had haggis and he thoroughly enjoyed his meal too. Our puddings of brownie sundae and Eton Mess were fabulous too. If you are ever in Amble then call into Jaspers for lovely food and a warm welcome. We will definitely be going back. Judith

User

Fantastic from start to finish, we received a warm welcome and attentive polite service throughout our meal.

The food was first class, could not fault in anyway. Cooked fresh each order and the flavours just wow. I had squid to start fresh ( not the horrid calamari rings), surf and turf ( not with a shrivelled up king prawn) with langoustines and scallops nom nom nom all the way and for pudding I had baked pineapple in brandy with a coconut sorbet OMG it was out of this world could of eaten it again lovely jubbly.

As for a review on trip advisor about the coffee not being great!!!! Really I love a good coffee and by gosh it was good.

Don’t think twice get it booked and try it for yourself

You get what you pay for

See you soon Jaspers

Beautifully cooked food, reasonably prices excellent wines & service to match in this very friendly small bistro - if only there were more like it! Ryan, the chef really cares about what he does and his flavour combinations complement so well. We discovered this place last year & have once again eaten there twice this week - we’ll be back next summer for our annual visit to Northumberland.

User

After reading so many rave reviews and hearing so many good things hubby and I paid a visit last night.

The service, the food and ambience were all first class.

We are pretty fussy when it comes to food, especially when paying good money to dine out. However our expectations were exceeded.

My husbands lobster was the best either of us had ever tasted and I had sublime lemon sole. I am always disappointed when I order lemon sole, as more recent offerings taste nothing like I used to remember it tasting, however this brought wonderful memories flooding back. The mussels that accompanied my dish were also excellent and we both agreed we had never tasted better.

We had a lovely chat with the very talented chef after dinner, who was charming.

I would have no hesitation in recommending our guests to visit Jaspers- we will be back!

Absolutely cracking place, front of house friendly, funny and informative, place all though small you weren’t cramped it actually made it more interment. Finally the food was amazing the chef really knows what his doing very very good and due to the size of the restaurant he also involved in the atmosphere. Would really recommend going

A hidden gem of a restaurant tucked away in a quiet corner of Amble. Cosy, intimate with a delightful background hum of relaxing music and contented diners.

Food is cooked fresh to order by the friendly owner/chef and is worth the wait. Light of touch, his food is flavoursome and pleasing on the eye as well as the palate.

Seafood features strongly on the menu as one would expect.

Service is attentive, prices reasonable and I am looking forward already to my next visit.

User

The atmosphere in the restaurant was lovely, warm and friendly. Our main the food was of a high standard and tasted wonderful. However my steak was ordered as medium and arrived well done. We ordered dessert and coffee. The coffee arrived quickly but was served in an earthenware mug and was frankly undrinkable. We waited almost 20 minutes for dessert then decided to leave without having it. Staff were friendly and helpful though the girl covering front of house and drinks struggled to keep up when the restaurant got busy. Similarly the chef was working solo and trying to be host to customers. I consider the restaurant would deserve top rating if staffing was re considered. And some nice cups and better coffee please

User

It was our first time here as it was recommended to us. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Food was beautifully presented and enjoyed by all of us. Only down side was that the vegetarian starter was garlic bread & no other option and there was only one choice of vegetarian main meal as well.
