Ye great food good drinks good venue attentive staff not the cheapest food in town but bang on !

What a great place. My wife and I visited on Monday evening. The food was delicious, decent portion size. Highly recommend to go there for a meal. We visited again on Saturday evening, yet again food was delicious. The staff were very friendly, the venue is stylish and clean and offered a wide range of drinks from the bar.

We visited last night for my sons birthday, we had brilliant service throughout the night, the staff couldn't do enough for you. The food was fantastic, we ordered 2 tapas dishes each with bread to share and it was plenty. I can highly recommend this place.

We have now been a few times for drinks and food, the food is brilliant and the service is really good, its a very welcoming environment and we always feel relaxed and at ease. I have recommended Jax's it to a load of people, definitely worth a visit.

Visited Friday night lovely food and lovely staff, service was exceptional . Will definitely be back :-)

Took my mum for a belated Mother’s Day and was superb! Staff were all lovely and the food was brilliant. We had the king prawns, calamari, halloumi skewers, Camembert and a Greek salad. Fair pricing and very clean. Only slight hiccup was the forgotten cocktail but wouldn’t mark you guys down for that as everyone makes mistakes and we got it in the end! Thank you Jax! �

The food was amazing. Live music was great. The service by Jonathon was outstanding and many thanks for the prosecco to round off a fabulous graduation day.

New menu, though still keeping our favourites. Friendly staff - remember us from previous visits - even our favourite dishes. Great service, just the right amount of time between courses. Great drinks menu , always beautifully presented. Planning our next visit.

I’ve been here twice now in the past couple of weeks (once as a competition winner on FB!). Both times we were met with friendly and very attentive staff. The food is quite simply, sublime. Drinks (sangria) absolutely delicious. We even had an impromptu gin tasting session!

Had my partners 30th birthday here in May ! Excellent food and service ! They went out of their way to make sure everyone had a lovely evening.

Go into Jax now and again on evenings and the staff and brilliant, never waiting long periods for a drink unlike some other bars in the town centre. I also went here for some food last week and it was delicious, definitely going to be eating here again! �

First ever visit yesterday and certainly won’t be the last! Stunning tasty tapas with exceptionally high presentation and welcoming pleasant staff. Compliments to the chef! Five star!

Arranged a hen do here for 19 girls in the private room upstairs (no hire charge for the room!!). Communication was easy, price great £20 for a tasty buffet style tapas meal (although the crabs were not popuar!). They easily catered for some who have catering needs.

The room is lovely & a fantastic size for what we wanted!

Asked for cocktail making session, it was brilliantly set out, our bar girl was great fun! We all had such a laugh!

All the staff have been friendly & helpful.

Would defo recommend this place for a small party setting or group meal.

And the bar/restaurant down stairs has a lovely atmosphere! Great selection of drinks & quick service.

After having major spinal surgery 7 weeks ago both myself and my best friend julie decided to have a catch up and we chose Jax. We both have been before and I really struggle with sitting on high seats so when booking I asked for a booth. Unfortunately because it was a busy time this was not available however to our delight on arrival it had been reserved for us. We ordered a variety of tapas that arrived hot and quickly. They were all Devine especially the mussels and sweet potato wedges. After we went for drinks at kings next door and was going to not have a late one but was told that the there was music on at jax so we left and went back and to our delight we could have the booth again. We ordered a bottle of prosecco which we were asked what we liked in it. It was lovely. It was fantastic night and we both were looked after amazingly. I just want to say a massive thank you to ALL the staff and the 2 guys singing for making our night so special. I definitely recommend this place to any one and I cannot wait to come back. It was also nice to see lower chairs now available so I will be bringing my mum as soon as possible. Once again thank you so much. Xx

A lovely friendly place. The staff are knowledgeable and want to please. The food was unbelievably good, the belly pork is to die for. Generous portion tapas for healthy appetites with plenty to choose from including vegan. A definite restaurant to return to again and again.

We made a booking for a large group at 7pm for today - that we’d have the function room and needed to pay £10 deposit per head. On confirming this we were told the function room had been double booked so we were downstairs, the time had to be moved to 5:30 and we didn’t need a deposit?!! When we arrived they brought out the dishes, the food was great although we were told we couldn’t order additional food as the kitchen was closing in 10 minutes. The food was cleared and we waiting for deserts - the churros which were included in our set menu. The lad who was in charge had no idea of this. He ran the manager and she said to give us our deserts and a free drink for the confusion so that was nice. On ordering a cocktail I was told they didn’t have a certain liquor to make my chosen drink as ‘they got drank dry on Saturday night’ so didn’t have enough stock as they only get deliveries Thursday but this happens every week. If this happens every week why not fix it? So we come to paying the bill - some card some cash and a lump sum from one of us who had collected the deposit we thought we needed. The lad behind the bar then didn’t add up the payments and basically accused us of underpaying and saying ‘Well this is pissing us both off, I shouldn’t have been left with this so if you believe you’ve paid then fine.’ So I took the card payments receipts and cash and added it up for him to prove it was right. 11 people leaving unhappy with the service and attitude and will not be returning.
