Jays Stores a shop which started trading at 130-132 Lower Road Rotherhithe in 1950. . In what was then Surrey Docks with a vibrant dock community. Selling a wide range of work clothes, safety clothes, safety footwear from brands like Doctor Martens, dewalt plus Leisure wear from brands such as Levi, Wrangler and Farah .

Our Store quickly became a bit of a local landmark sitting as it does still at the junction of Lower Road and Redriff Road. This location gave our store unique access to the dock workforce and because of its position on a main road into the City Of London, the passing workmen working on the re-building of the City after World War 2. The Docks have long since disappeared The name may have changed now to Surry Quays and the docks may no longer be here but the strong vibrant community remains but something’s do not change and the area is still a vibrant community.

Our Store remains a strong local landmark and we are proud to have served this community for over sixty years and we continue to offer the same level of service and remain true to the values of Alf Jay in 1950.
