Tenderlonious led jazz quartet Ruby Rushton and their 22a imprint have been at the forefront of the UK jazz scene since the release of their debut album โ€˜Two For Joyโ€™ back in 2015. They followed that up in in 2017, with two albums -- โ€˜Trudi's Songbook: Volume One' & 'Trudi's Songbook: Volume Two.' Both albums were met with mass acclaim receiving award nominations and regular airtime from Gilles Peterson, Jazz FM, BBC Radio 6 and many more.
2019 see's the band continuing to push boundaries, and lead the way, with their new genre-defying album โ€œIronsideโ€. The music is rooted in the spiritual concepts of jazz heroes such as John Coltrane and Yusef Lateef, whilst adopting in๏ฌ‚uences from hip hop, Afrobeat and the UK underground culture. Expect high energy, freeform, contemporary jazz with nods to the Headhunters and Weather Report heyday.

We can't wait for Robohands' debut Brighton performance! Here's a little taste of what to expect. ๐Ÿ˜‹

User

Andy Baxter aka Robohands is a multi-instrumentalist that juggles effortlessly between hip-hop, jazz, and ambient atmospherics. Scintillating beats, lovely piano sketches, swirling percussive moments, melancholic jazz harmonies and wandering saxophones make for an incredibly exciting and refreshing listen on his debut LP โ€˜Greenโ€™. ๐Ÿ˜
If youโ€™ve been to the last two events then youโ€™ll know that his meditative sound will be a perfect fit for the setting of Patterns ground floor bar. โ˜๏ธ
