Jeannette Bidder Schools Description
I provide expertise for pupils (3-19 yrs) where Special Educational Needs need support. I apply for Education, Health and Care Plans with parents & schools. I offer training in SEND and Safeguarding
I offer an empowering, personal and sensitive approach to address Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) for often vulnerable and under-achieving pupils or students. Always child-focused, striving to ensure progress is enabled, I work in nurseries and schools to support identification and appropriate responses to often complex needs. Working in a holistic way and with a multi-agency approach that is noted and valued throughout this website, I support school staff teams and leadership for optimum pupil progress, mindful of the S. E. N. D. Code of Practice 2014.

A leap of faith...work with attachment theory and enabling support takes time, we know.
A new Special School has opened! Actually, this is for PRIMARY age pupils with complex SEMH, at Robertsbridge, East Sussex. HURRAH! Mountfield Heath will be in great demand. https://www.ryeandbattleobserver.co.uk/†¦/new-school-for-chi…

Trauma- informed teaching? This great visual was shared by leading expert Michael McKnight via LinkedIn, and I thought schools and nurseries would value it. Often linked to co-existing SEN, trauma comes in many forms, of course, and hoping this poster might help training and awareness.

Special Educational Needs and fair exam access arrangements can be a perennial challenge to manage, but vital. Creating a level playing field is not optional: equal opportunity matters.
Dear SENCO, Do you have a dedicated SEN budget in your school and are you a member of Senior Leadership Team?
Take a peek! Such a helpful organisation, in my experience.
Do you know about I CAN? This is an amazing charity with great training options and resources for speech, language and communication.
Have you seen, "See Amazing in All Children," resources? Julia - one of the Muppets, created 4 years ago - has made a difference to children and parents.
Co-existing special educational needs are common but holistic, supportive approaches are less common!
Sensory processing impacts learners' capacity to engage: here's a simplified and helpful poster from Understood.org .....
Experts hold differing views about sensory processing difficulties, Autism and sensory integration - and SPD - but I think this snapshot gives us a useful overview.
This carefully adapted book is to help those with learning disabilities, to understand and protect their mental health.
Yes, the battles for EHCP continue. Genuine, complex special educational needs are neglected: the tribunal system is creaking. Seen the latest figures? Funds?
