A former Victorian school, the converted building was refurbished to create rehearsal studios, meeting rooms, a versatile gallery space (home to the Jerwood Visual Arts programme), a café with glasshouse and office space for Jerwood Charitable Foundation. A major new survey exhibition presenting new works by 15 early-career artists from across the UK. Survey is the largest review of contemporary art practice in Jerwood Visual Art’s 12 years of programming, spanning a breadth of disciplines. The exhibition tak...es a non-institutional approach to selection with 35 mid-career artists – including Ryan Gander, Andy Holden and Rachel Maclean – nominating the most promising new UK artists working today.
The exhibition is open to the public from 3 October with the following opening hours: Wednesday 3 October: 10am-5pm Thursday 4 October: 10am-5pm followed by a performance by Ashley Holmes: 7-8.30pm Friday 5 October: 10am-8.30pm Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 October: 10am-6pm

Jerwood Staging Series continues tonight with Chronica, presented by Sophie Hoyle - an event exploring embodied experiences of illness, encounters with healthcare infrastructures and biomedical technologies.
