Since posting the report below I have spoken with JM and the lady that I thought was rude, I have spoken with her several times and she has been very helpful and is pleasant. I jumped to the wrong conclusion which was bad on my part and like they say “never judge a book by a cover” should not judge a person after one conversation. I hope the lady concerned accepts my apology

I am an avid customer of jewellery maker and find the presenters and designers outstanding, they have a great personality and make it fun to watch JM. As I’m disabled and home the majority of the time the only Chanel I watch is JM. The customer services on the other hand I am disgusted with a few months ago I rang to cancel something off my order and the gentleman on the other end was rude, abrupt and needed a personality transplant, I did ring and say I was not impressed but then left it we all have bad days. On placing some orders recently I got a bit carried away and overspent so not enough funds in my account this was my fault and I should not have ordered so much but at the time I was not very well and undergoing an operation ( this is not an excuse but just trying to let you understand my current situation). I had just come out of hospital after having my operation and got a phone call from JM customer services well the lady who called me was so rude, abrupt, discourteous, impolite, impudent, uncivil and disrespectful she should never be in that job she was annoyed angry within her tone and raised voice saying I’m cancelling your accounts and if you open any more I will be cancelling them she also accused me of opening an account in my husbands name, which I didn’t he opened his own account. This has really upset me and made me feel really low as I still watch JM but every day I’m reminded of how I was spoken too. Another thing that has really hurt me is the presenters keep saying txt in we love to interact, well for two weeks I sent in msgs and not one was shown. I know they can’t show them all but not one in two weeks something is wrong! All the msgs that are shown are the same Customers over and over again, now I feel if you dont fit in you are ignored, I have messaged in and a regular customer had msgs after me guess who’s was shown? After several times that day. I am not a nasty person I always put others before myself and would help anyone. I have two workshop vouchers here and have messaged in to see if they could give them to someone who could not afford to get one or raffle for charity as I will be unable to use them due to operations and I’m gutted, although I wonder how I will be treated! (still awaiting to see what you would like to do)?

Just had cause to contact JM via email, with a query about an order. Not expecting reply due to bank holiday. Not only did I get a personal email within one hour on a bank holiday evening, query and order sorted with no fuss.

Honestly one of the best customer service and genuine sales team I have come across

User

JM have made it possible for me to do what I love at a price I can actually afford, with real quality products. They offer the most amazing inspiration with their incredibly talented guest designers and keep me chuckling all day long! Thank you JM

I had an absolutely fantastic day on the Introduction to Jewellery Making course with my Mom this week. Am fairly new to jewellery making and my Mom is a total newbie - Claire did such a good job of getting the course to the right level and totally inspiring us both. I was so pleased that I was able to make things in a style and colour that I liked, rather than the course being a standard plan, and we've come away with lots of really special jewellery and treated ourselves to more lovely things from the shop too. Everyone we met was so friendly and welcoming, and we loved being able to peek into the studio!! Thank you everyone for a lovely day and a new hobby :-)

User

I had a fantastic day yesterday with a great bunch of people and Alison Tarry. We had great fun learning wireworking. We made various items of jewellery, wire findings and had fun in the bead scoop. I'm now hoping to go on another workshop.

User

A great service full of information and support.

2 orders received today and as usual they were well packed.

Also you magazine may be small but is jam packed with information.

Thank you JM for your talented guest designers who provide ideas and great demos

I have been watching JM since around 2011. I only really watch a few designers now, however that in itself is thanks to JM (and other Sources like magazines, books and You Tube etc).

When I started watching, I was very new to jewellery making, watched almost all the time and bought most of the DVD's, eager to learn all the new techniques. It was a great source of learning for me. Of course my Gemstone stash constantly grew, along with my knowledge.

The real turning point for me was Rachel Norris and a wirework ring masterclass she did. It took me a whole day to make it, rewinding the recording constantly - but I did it! A few days later, I was asked to make something for a family member and that's when I realised that, although I had been making a ring - I had actually mastered lots of different techniques that I could use elsewhere!

This is where my passion for Wirework initially came from, and I am eternally grateful to Rachel & JM for opening my eyes to this amazing medium! Thanks guys.

Sales wise has been an up and down issue over the years, but so far I haven't had any sales issues with the new team. Am really not interested in seed beads though and they seem to be taking over. Hope it's not a sign of the times.

User

I'm getting more and more disappointed with JM as time goes on, especially since the takeover. I think JM is going downhill. I've had orders go missing and I've had to wait over a month for a refund. Then there's the designers that read your pm and don't bother answering when you're asking for help with something. I can understand that they're very busy and sometimes it takes a while for them to get to your message, but to then totally ignore it is very wrong. I would, however, like to thank the designers that do take the time and have the manners get back to us. I used to love JM and originally gave it a 5 rating but that keeps going down. Bring back the old JM. Even the 8th Birthday shows were a total let down

User

I have not shopped too much on Jewellerymaker since it changed management and product range but had always been happy with the customer service, however, I made an order on 22/6 and my payment was taken from my account a couple of days after the order. Here I was waiting for my parcel. Today a call from JM to say the order hadn’t been sent yet because they only had 2 of the items from my order ( none of the items were sold out when I ordered and I was particularly quick on the bugle bead kit. The situation was made worse by the fact my husband had ordered some products from China made to specific requirements on the same day as my JM order and his arrived on 27/6.

The gentleman on the phone was very matter of fact about it just saying they had overestimated how many they had in the warehouse and made no apology for that or explanation as to why 1 week after the order it had not been dispatched nor anyone rang with this problem before today. Not impressed at all today JM

User

Very very disappointed! Shopped with them for years now, but I recently placed a large order for things I desperately need. 4 days later & after 2 lengthy & expensive conversations I’ve had to cancel the order.

Time to find another supplier I think.... very poor service. Not even an apology or way of compensation

What’s going on JewelleryMaker???

User

Used to enjoy watching but do so very rarely now as it just doesn't seem the same. Last two times I've watched the presenter and designer have sniggered and giggled over some mistake while reading out hall of fame entries. There are fewer gem stones on and they are a lot more expensive. Good that they now offer quality clasps, chas and chains, but some of them can be bought cheaper elsewhere. Shame JM is no longer part of Gemporia.

User

The style of the programe has changed so much, as has the type of gemstones. I am sorry to say that I much prefered Jewellery maker from four or five years ago, the kits were much more comprehensive, and could be bought in one go, not have to be purchased in two, three or even four parts, which cost an arm and a leg! If you paid £35.00 for a kit back then, it was high end and could have upto four strands of gemstones in it. Please please please, can we have some of the old style kits brought back!

User

Sadly this was my first time ordering from this company, and I paid extra for expedited shipping as needed the items promptly. I received an email yesterday stating DPD was going to deliver them today. Sadly, I received another email this morning stating that DPD was unable to deliver it today as the supplier did not get the package to them on time. I have messaged them my concerns, as I was planning on it being here as they had marked it dispatched and emails confirmed DPD were going to deliver with no luck. JM only said to contact them again if I don’t get the items tomorrow. I find there customer service to be lacking, especially when you pay extra for expedited shipping and receive the confirmation emails so make sure your are home to receive them. I can’t comment on the quality of the product as haven’t received them.

User

I have been a customer with JM for nearly 4yrs. However, over the passed year a lot of things have changed. I placed an order a few days ago. As it is Xmas I over spent, I called the call centre to cancel some things that I really didn't need. The order was cancelled, but unfortunately the funds had already been taken from my account. On the 4 calls that I made to the call centre, they stated that the figure withdrawn from my account was very different to what I was seeing on my account. At this point I was asked to email my bank statements, which I did. No one called me back. I called again to be told by a supervisor. That the problem was that I cancelled the old as the money had been withdrawn and to my shock. She told me that I shouldn't have done that and there wouldn't have been a problem. I have spent a lot of money with jewellery maker and I do not and will not be spoken to like that. They have lost my £.

User

Poor quality products and JM has definitely become much more expensive! It is extremely annoying when the presenters & designers keep saying you could sell the jewellery for hundreds of pounds. It is just far to expensive to make jewellery buying jm products. By the time you buy the gemstone strand, the bails, the clasps and chains, the finished product costs far more than it would cost to buy the same item from another channel.

In 2015 I paid only £12 for double strand of 75cts of sagenitic quartz faceted rondelles but last month JM charged £35 for 60ct double strand. That's triple the price for less cts of smaller stones that were much poorer in colour. 100m wire spools previously cost £19.95, now they mostly do only 10m spools £4.95 each, so 100m now costs £49.50, that's £30 more expensive.

I got the stardust beads in gold, silver and rose gold a few weeks ago, they were very pretty at first but they tarnished black the first day I and a friend wore them. The same happened to the square braided wire, it tarnished almost imediately. Sky blue topaz faceted drops I paid £40 for broke to bits when put onto 0.25mm wire. The top drill holes and inclusions in the stones made them too fragile and they smashed. Same for an emerald strand and garnet coins I bought.

JM are also charging more for their genstone strands than other channels are selling their sterling silver gemstone jewellery for. A bracelet today for example on jm, GVIL16, was £34.99 yet I paid only £9.99 for my sterling leaf bracelet with an adjustable chain. The adjustable chain itself is more than that price on jm.

I also got a full tanzanite rondelle necklace with sterling silver magnetic clasp on jm sister channel for less than jm are charging for just a strand of tanzanite without silver. I got the strand to compare the stones and there was no difference.

It is extremely annoying when the presenters and designers keep saying you could sell the jewellery for hundreds of pounds, so annoying because even their sister channel and other channels & online stores sell the same gemstones set into sterling silver jewellery for no where near the prices the presenters claim you could get if you sold it yourself. I also doubt they would be wasting their rime working on jm if they could sell their for those prices themselves.

JM is just way too expensive now, the products are poor, most strands only have 1 or 2 stones on it at the bigger advertised size. Many gemstones break and other products tarnish and t is not enjoyable to tune in to any more.

User

I placed my very first order with JM recently and got my beautiful peacock pearls which were lovely, but I was led to believe, that as I had spent more than £4.95 I would also receive a welcome pack which did not come when I rang up I was told something that was entirely different from what had been said on the show.

Highly disappointed with JM on the whole. Has made it so I no longer want to either buy gems from JM nor do I want to try jewellery making for myself. This experience has soured everything for me sadly.

User

I know you are a selling channel but must Becky interrupt the demo as often as she does. It makes me lose interest in the demo as it's so disjointed. The other presenters except Vicky seem to let the demonstrator get on with it.

User

Had bag charm collection kit only managed make 1 complete bag charm out of kit. Overpriced, not enough beads or headpins hugely disappointed plus instructions were not for a beginner, more for someone with knowledge already. Not a kit in my book as a kit has everything to make at least a reasonable amount for price plus over just in case. Also had items I did not even need for this kit showed it had been thrown together without thought. Beginners would not come back after buying this kit! Beware to other customers not to buy this item!
