Great morning with Huxley!😍⭐️
His owners are doing a fantastic job with him! Today we took some of his training outside. We have been working on his reaction to other dogs, but today focused on confidence building exercises on his walks as he finds his walks a little overwhelming!

Amazing Ava!⭐️
Ava did fabulous today! She met stooge dog Jackson! Ava was a little unsure of if she wanted to say hello! But after about 30 minutes of allowing her to approach and move away when she wanted she soon had the zoomies!😆 and we even got a little play bow!
It’s important dog interactions with Ava are slow and calm to ensure she is not overwhelmed. Her owners all did fantastic at handling her and observing her behaviour!

Loved our scent work classes Jackson had great fun!! He taught me a lot! Trust your dogs smell!!😁

Well Dennis is such a super star! He’s happy in his harness now! 😁
Next steps is to get Dennis focused on his walks without chewing his lead. Today we have broken down his training into some work whilst his lead was on and then working on his eye contact with his owner!
We managed to take this outside the house today for a few minutes and he had some great successes!
... He also enjoyed emptying his mums newly planted flowers! These clearly was not there last time we went out the front door! 😮😆oh Dennis!🐶🌸

The videos are hard to watch in this article! Many of these dogs are shutdown. To much advice and training is focused on stopping a behaviour utilising “obedience” using inappropriate methods. Instead we should be thinking about how the dog feels and changing their emotional response or teaching alternative behaviours which they are happy to do!

Meet Huxley!🐶
We’ve Been working with Huxley for some time now with his reactivity to other dogs. He has a lot of work to do outdoors yet with building up his confidence and focus towards his owners, but they have been working tremendously at building up his alternative behaviours in the house! His stooge dog set ups are going fantastic!!
Here we are rewarding Huxley for engaging and disengaging from the other dog and rewarding all the right choices he makes. We practised som...e of his emergency “let’s go” cue at the end as this is an important cue for a dog to learn for when you need to get out of a potential risky situation!😁 once fully muzzle trained we will have further set ups without the gate as a barrier

Tonight we’ve been working on little Ava settling in her own. She has started her crate training and settling in this area with the long term goal for her to settle whilst owners are out of site.
Had an update this evening that she’s had a little snooze in there😍🐶

So last week we gave the owners a task! To teach their dogs a new trick which they all performed brilliantly on their last week of classes tonight!
🐶Ruby did fantastic jumping through a hoop!... 🐶Ralph learnt to roll over and a hand touch! 🐶Gilbert learnt a roll over too!!
