jhd Architects is a successful Kent architecture firm. We specialise in modern architecture for private residential clients mainly in Kent, nut we travel further for interesting projects and clients in Sussex, Surrey and Greater London.

Our projects include contemporary new houses and extensions, contemporary listed building alterations and extensions, basements, swimming pools and outdoor living spaces.

We also design care homes and have particular experience of design for dementia and disabled access.

We believe we are one of very few Kent architects using 3D design technology to its fullest extent, not only to produce 3D models for clients to ‘walk around’ before the first brick is laid, but also to speed up construction, improve cost control and minimise costly mistakes on-site.


Our passion is for creating striking, practical spaces in which to live, work, relax and entertain. Spaces which make people say ‘wow’ when they walk into them and which are flexible to accommodate our clients’ changing needs. Maximising the potential for luxury, light, space and energy-savings, we have a strong track record for discretely integrating ‘green’ technology, and for obtaining planning permission, particularly in areas where restrictions are tight.
