Next stage of detailing, the engine bay. The team have used engine bay specific snow foam cleaner to help get into all of the crevices, giving this 1988 engine a deep clean.

We have fully removed the interior from this 944 Turbo so we can give it a deep clean, change the cracked dashboard and clean and restore everything on the way back into the car.

Nathan is working on another snapped window motor cable. Anymore and he will be a leading expert in them 😂

Hard work pays off! Cris has been working on restoring the paintwork on our 944 training vehicle, Learning various techniques along the way including machine polishing (rotary and DA), wet sanding and even some re-spraying. You can see how poor the paintwork was on the door and rear quarter panels.
We think Cris has done a brilliant job so far, do you?

Here Cristian is carrying out a full brake service on this Porsche 944. This includes new brake discs, brake pads and the removal of surface corrosion. Once complete, we carry out a road test and check the brake bias and performance before presenting the car back to the owner.

Another 356 in this week for a Ethanol safe component upgrades and an ethanol tune up. Current fuels in the UK contain up to 15% ethanol (due to rise again soon.) Unfortunately Ethanol in fuel causes changes to how the fuel burns and needs adjustments to the ignition and fuel system to run well.. But also many components in the pre 1998 fuel systems are not Ethanol friendly and can decompose causing expensive repairs!

An avalanche of 944s... This near mint 944 Turbo has come in to see the team due to having some strange running issues. The team are currently diagnosing the problem whilst teaching our newest team member a few things.

After years of sitting dormant, this 928 is in need of JMG's loving hands. Here Bailey has performed all the pre-lubrication of the engine prior to starting, as you do with a laid up car...But now is trying to diagnose the possible fault which is stopping it from running. With a trained ear Bailey is listening to the fuel injectors whilst looking for any leaks and signs of life, as Tom tries to crank the engine.

50 shades of red. The team are currently working on the early stages of a couple of restorations, guards red 944's. The 944's have shot up in peoples opinions in recent years, several of our 911 customers, a couple of them GT3 owners, have 944's.

Still a work in progress but functional and in use... Some last finishing touches and art are in progress.

Nothing can beat old school, hands on mechanics but having the ability to scan and diagnose a car certainly helps the process. Here we can see our apprentice Leo using main dealer diagnostic equipment to scan and watch the live data on this 2014 Porsche Cayenne. After a quick diagnoses we have discovered the issue was due to "somewhere else" plugging it into a lesser machine, which corrupted data and needed several control units to be recoded correctly.

Being a super mechanic requires thinking outside of the box. Here you can see us diagnosing a Porsche fuelling problem using a tool that Porsche dealers never had, because Jon designed and built it to test, diagnose and bypass the infamous DME relay.. combining it with a test fuel pump cut hours from the diagnostic time for this car.

JMG offer a great car inspection which helped reassure me about my Porsche. Had to sort out some niggles and Jon and the team were good at letting me know what was essential repairs and what was not. Communication was great throughout and prices were reasonable too.



Will be continuing to use JMG to look after my car from now on.
