Merlin UPDATE Merlin our Screech Owl with the ruptured eye visited our vets again today to have his stitches removed to release his 3rd eyelid but he done that himself overnight, Julian our vet gave the eye a general anathesic to numb the area so he could give it a good clean, on closer inspection the rupture was no worse than last week, Merlin will now have eye ointment in is eye twice daily for a week to keep it moist and see if we can get the eye to heal, 50/50 at the moment whether Merlin keeps his eye but he will be blind in this eye if we manage to save it.

On Saturday we had to rush Merlin our Screech Owl in to see our vet as he had managed somehow to puncture his left eye, Julian hopefully has saved his eye as the eye has plugged itself. The 3rd eyelid has been stitched closed to protect they eyeball while it continues to heal. Will keep you all posted of future updates with Merlin.

Joe’s Owl Encounters & Exotic Mobile Zoo Care Home Animal Therapy We offer 3 different animal therapy sessions: • Birds of Prey. • Exotic Mobile Zoo.... • Meerkat’s. All sessions are 1 hour We only carry out animal therapy visits between 1st October - 30th April each year. Birds of Prey Our bird therapy visits are very interactive and allows us to bring 7 different species of birds in to any care home and allow our first 4 birds to be held with a leather glove provided by us, the last three birds are only for viewing due to their size and weight. Unfortunately, we do not allow people to touch our birds for animal welfare, visit fee £80.00. Exotic Mobile Zoo Our Exotic Mobile Zoo therapy entails of us visiting care homes with a collection of our exotic animals and allowing residents to touch, hold or just look, visit fee £80.00. Meerkat Vision Therapy Our Meerkat's will entertain anyone and everyone with their playful, mischievous behaviour. Our Meerkat's are not handle-able and are only used for viewing purposes only, visit fee £70.00. Traveling expenses also applies.
