Joe'S Tea Co Description

Joe’s award winning tea

Joe’s Tea Co. was born in 2012 and Joe’s sought after blends have since won over 17 Great Taste Awards. From artisan delis and outstanding independent restaurants – to M& S, Harvey Nichols, Gordon Ramsay’s and The Breakfast Club…Joe’s fast-growing list of stockists, loyal tea-loving following, passionate team, big plans and new blends, mean there’s always a new reason to pop the kettle on at Joe’s Tea Co.

A bit about Joe…

Take an avid tea drinker with a quenchless taste for a quality cuppa… add his passion for London, all things organic and a bit of nous that quality isn’t all sparkling spoons and silver strainers – then stir it up with bags of tea expertise and inspiration – and you have Joe’s Tea Company*.

*well, it may’ve taken a few cuppas more than that, but you get the gist.

He stirred in a few favourites…

Any tea Joe was going to put his name to had to be the best. And by ‘best’ we mean sourced from the most exceptional and ethical organic tea plantations he could find. Why? To bring us our favourite British drink in its finest form without the faff; to take the ‘toff’ out of fine tea, to tingle our taste buds with quirky and colourful concoctions, all in good-to-go fuso bags.

Our teas have won 17 Gold Stars at the Great Taste Awards. See the full range here: http://www. joesteacompany.com/teas /

How Joe Does Organic

Our bodies might not be as temple-y as we’d like, but when it comes to a simple slurp of tea, we might as well treat ourselves to the finest taste and ditch the chemicals. Joe believes in fuss-free organic because tea needs properly looking after in happy soil to be its best. That’s why Joe uses only organic tea, herbs and fruit in his blends, grown to perfection using old-school organic farming methods.

The Facts On Organic

The entire Joe’s Tea Co. range is certified organic by the Soil Association Ltd, UK.

Why Is Organic Soil Better?

Organic soil holds more carbon and is therefore less dependent on oil-based fertilisers and pesticides and is more resilient to changes in climate. We also love organic farming because it provides a haven for wildlife, including bees, butterflies and birds, and provides homes for up to 50% more wildlife than non-organic farms.

Licences To Do So

Our factory in Sri Lanka has organic EU, NOP /USDA and JAS certification from Control Union. Here in the UK we are certified by the Soil Association.

Where Our Produce Comes From

We source and purchase our teas and ingredients mostly from small producers in the third world where it is ensured that their livelihood is sustainable. They use natural resources and adopt sustainable agricultural practices that help preserve the earth for future generations. We ensure that all our suppliers are selected and monitored based on their good environmental practices. Using recycled, biodegradable and recyclable materials is a must.

The Ozone

Sri Lanka produces the world’s only internationally certified ozone friendly tea and we are proud that all our blends carry this certification.

Carbon Neutral

We use a carbon neutral courier, Elite Worldwide, for all our international shipping and our factory in Sri Lanka is well on the way to becoming carbon neutral in 2014.
