This is a posting about the John Lewis Cafe not the store. The store and staff were amazing throughout but not the cafe. I had an horrendous experience. I queued for 20 minutes whilst the staff were faffing about and then I ordered a breakfast. I waited ages and then they brought half my breakfast out and expected me to wait for the other half which I had to go and ask for. The manager came out who was no help and still brought me half a breakfast. Atrocious and slow service. Everyone was complaining! I won't be going back.

I bought 2 things, receipt showing completion at 11:13. I decided to immediately get them gift-wrapped where there wasn't even a queue. Completion of gift wrap was at 11:55, 42 minutes later! They were well wrapped, but the estimate of 10 minutes I was given was very wrong and to be honest given the 30 minute sitting waiting was surprised I was still charged. Made the day quite stressful.

A regular customer of John Lewis in Birmingham and London and always met with exceptional service and quality products however John Lewis at Sheffield is a different experience altogether. Starting from store layout which is old and crumbly to poor customer service.

Will not be visiting again.

Sincerely hope John Lewis bring this store up to standards of their other stores.

Not very happy with the unhelpfull staff in the ladies dept even though I was spending £450 on a wedding outfit. However this was more than made up for by Chris on ground floor check out. He was so lovely and helpfull and found me a massive hat box for my wedding hat and lovely wedding shoes were half price. Magic thanks Chris you are a star. Xxx

I needed time and help to listen to a number of bedside radios (my hearing isn't as good as it was). The assistant was helpful, knowledgeable and unhurried, despite the department being quite busy. Thank you, I'm delighted with my purchase.

Just as I expected after 32 years of shopping here. First Cole Brothers and later John Lewis. John Lewis has always been in the picture. When Cole Brothers did not have what I wanted they would access it from a John Lewis shop anywhere in the UK for me.

The kitchen team are just dreadful. It's been weeks and we're still fighting. We regret ever getting them to do the job. I spoke to the deputy store manager this morning and she was not only rude and unapologetic but she even made excuses for the work (or lack of). Appalling. Looking wider.. The whole store is incredibly tatty and more closely resembles the now extinct BHS. Displays are uninspiring and the stock carried is limited at best. If this store wasn't part of a much larger and successful name then it would have died long ago. An embarrassment to the company and what it stands for. Avoid. The new Leeds store is so close and the difference between the stores defies comparison.

Wide selection and good prices worth a visit

I've only had good experiences with John Lewis in Sheffield. We mainly visit the cafe and there's always a member of staff available to help with the tray as I've usually got a pram and can't push it and carry the tray. The cafe is clean and the cakes and coffees tasty (though quite expensive!).

Terrible - when they ask you to give them feedback and it is negative they just remove it from their site. Had a few awful experiences with John Lewis in Sheffield - just not like is was.

Bought some Bose headphones from John Lewis and used to get headaches after 10 mins of using them. I had been really busy with work and was not able to return them after a couple of months.

Managed to take them back and got a refund without any trouble. Great service! Will shop again!
