Johns Bikes

Have nothing but good things to say about John's Bikes. Bought my trusty Trek from them over 10 years ago and they have maintained it for me ever since. I upgraded the saddle about a year ago and it became dis-attached today. Popped to the shop and the lovely guy re-attached it for free. Their follow up service is second to none - more of a cyclist community (for normal people as well as hardened cyclists) where you can ask advice and get support. Can't recommend highly enough.

Unbeatable shop, five star service and support as ever! I won't bother with any other bike shop in bath again! Whatever your problem, johns bikes will get you sorted!

You don't ever get this kind of service from online shops!!! Organised replacement cable stop bolts free of charge, and even give reliable and knowledgeable advice on bottom bracket compatability! Can't recommend enough!

I took my daughters bike wheel to Johns Bikes today, thinking it was a puncture, having very little experience of bikes other than sitting on them! We were given a lesson on how to change the inner tube, correct pressure and future maintenance....they gave us their time, genuine interest in explaining bikes and no charge...Thank you Dan and the rest of the team.Emma and Florence Seal

The staff are excellent. They were extremely thorough throughout the whole process and did absolutely everything possible to keep me up to date on my bike mend. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again!

Went in a few weeks ago to book my bike in to have the wheel repaired. Everything was straightforward. Brought the bike back on scheduled day and the same guy who served me and one of the mechanics held me up for 15 minutes, by putting my bike on the stand and insisting they needed to check everything else on the bike for safety reasons...in which case, they probably should have started with the brakes (not the chain!), not to mention the play in the rear wheel, which I'd brought the bike in about, in the first place! It was a week day, I was busy and I just wanted my bike fixed as planned, so I left and said call me with a list of faults then, if you're going to be like this! They called back and told me they wouldn't be prepared to fix my bike after all, unless I had £200 of work done on it!...apparently for safety reasons!...I've cycled tens of thousands of miles in my lifetime! I know when a bike is unsafe! My wheel was unsafe! That's why I wanted it fixed! Ridiculous behaviour. Felt treated like an idiot with a big wallet, when the opposite is true :( :( :(

Popped in on a ride from Bristol to Reading. The guys were really helpful and sorted me out on the spot. Excellent customer service. This is a 'proper' bike shop. Highly recommend.

They fixed up my bike wonderfully. They quoted a worst case scenario cost for the work, but when it came to it they double checked exactly what was necessary as to no rip me off. This brought the cost way down. Top work.

Needed a new front mudguard for my 29er (not standard stock). Mark was very helpful and friendly, ordered new one in + told me about local trails. Would highly recommend.

Recently had my bike serviced and was not happy with the customer service at all. Cost was slightly more than I expected because of extra work needed - that happens - but no explanation of what or why and were not pleasant when I pressed the issue. They just wanted my money. First time I've been there under the new owners - never had a problem before - quality of the actual work on the bike was as good as ever.

You pay a premium here compared with other shops but the service was definitely not premium this time.
