Joshua Miles Therapy Description

About Me

I am a fully qualified and registered Integrative Therapist and Bereavement Counsellor offering both Short Term and Open-Ended Therapy in East London to adults of all ages.

I am a warm, compassionate and empathic therapist with an individual approach to therapy who can provide you with a safe and non-judgmental space where you can unpack your thoughts and feelings.

I use an Integrative model with a focus on Psychodynamic Therapy. The Integrative Model draws on methods from different approaches of counselling and therapy, which enables me to tailor therapy to your individual needs, and work closely with you to ensure you are getting what you need out of therapy. I am experienced in working with a wide range of life issues, such as:

Stress
Anxiety
Depression
Bereavement
Relationship difficulties.

I can help you if you find yourself feeling disconnected from the world, lost in a sea of emotion or feeling as though the life you are living is not your own. My experience will enable me to offer you perspective and space for thought and reflection. I will work with you to explore and expand on your feelings, and assist you in living a life that feels more connected, real and meaningful.

Getting Started With Therapy

Beginning the process of therapy can be frightening, and I deeply value the courage it takes to make that first call.

If you think that therapy could be helpful for you and you wish to find out more, please do not hesitate to contact me either by telephone or e-mail to arrange an initial meeting. This will give us the opportunity to explore what you may wish to gain from therapy, discuss your specific needs and goals and give you the chance to ask any questions you have about the process.

If you wished to proceed with therapy, we would meet for 50 minutes once a week and regularly discuss and review the therapy and your progress to ensure that you are getting what you want from our work together.

I aim to respond to any enquiries within 12 hours

Further Information

Bereavement

I am an experienced Bereavement Therapist and understand that Grief and Loss deeply impact many aspects of your life. I understand the powerful and difficult feelings that grief has on you, your relationships and your life. If you have lost someone recently or in the past I can assist to better understand your loss, and work through your feelings to help you to find your place in the world without your loved one

Depression

Depression, loneliness and isolation can be debilitating, controlling and at some points crippling, leaving you with a lack of energy or enjoyment for life. I am experienced in working with these issues, and can work with you to explore your feelings of sadness, be with you during your times of darkness as well as share in your happiness and times of light.

Anxiety

I understand that Anxiety can leave us struggling to feel in control of our worries and fears. When we experience Anxiety, we are not only managing our emotions and feelings, but our physical sensations as well. Anxiety can be that cramping feeling we get in the pit of our stomach that can stop you in your tracks. Anxiety can occur when we are fearful of the thought of a stressful event, or decision we may be facing. I can work with you to understand your Anxiety, think about where it is coming from, and most importantly, offer you practical ways of managing it.
