Could the term Cross-didactics be accepted as that of Cross-linguistics?
Cross-didactics is a new term introduced by Dr. Paschalis Chliaras in order to meet the needs of his research concerning the “Concurrent Teaching of Two Similar Languages in the Same Classroom”. It is the theory and practical application of teaching two similar language systems concurrently, which interact and affect both the linguistic performance and the linguistic development of the individual concern...ed. This typically refers to similar languages such as Spanish, French, Portuguese, Romanian and Italian. The theory of the Cross-didactic Learning method focuses on the baseline cross-linguistic knowledge students acquire and seeks to improve upon and convey this information. It also refers to the foundation or starting point in a lesson plan consisting of concurrent teaching of two related languages in the same classroom, where the overall objective is cross-linguistic and multicultural awareness. An appropriately educated teacher functions in this role as an authoritative figure, but also as both a guide and a resource for students.

... The Journal of Applied Languages and Linguistics (J-ALL) is brand-new peer-reviewed journal. We’re looking for articles for our two 2018 issues. Deadline for June 2018 issue: May 10th, 2018 Deadline for December 2018 issue: September 20th, 2018
​Here’s what we’re trying to do:
Bridge the gap between academia and front-line language teachers. Teachers are smart, and they care about best practice, but they simply don’t have time to wade through endless research papers. We want to make sure as many teachers as possible read, understand and implement the best research.
Inform the big debates in language learning and teaching. Teachers are constantly bombarded with opinions and ideas about best practice. But where’s the evidence behind those opinions? What can research tell us? We want to move the big debates away from “I believe …” and towards “Research shows that ….”
Help people teach and learn languages more successfully. We all know that learning a language can be a long and tedious process. But when it works well, the results are amazing. Teaching a language can be even more frustrating. But it’s still the best job in the world. We want to help language learners and teachers to keep that passion alive. We want to make a difference.
