I ran a very successful Theatre Dance School in Whickham and Lobley Hill for many years with outstanding exam results with many students being nominated for Theatre Dance Awards (formerly Scholarships) and several going on to perform professionally after completing their training with me and gaining places at vocational schools such as Laine Theatre Arts, Epsom; Phil Winston's Theatreworks, Blackpool and Arts Educational, London.

Unfortunately, due to personal circumstances I had to close the school in 2001. In February 2017 a former pupil arranged a reunion, which was fantastic and attended by many former pupils and parents. There was even a presentation screened with video footage from the old days and video interviews from some pupils who were unable to attend (you will find this in the videos on this page)

In August 2017 after much pestering by my former pupils, some who are now mothers themselves, I agreed to offer children's and adult classes and I am honoured that those I taught now wish to entrust their children to me for their dance training.

In September 2017 the next generation of 'Joyce Jeffrey Dancers' began their journey as I started this new venture and I can't quite believe how fast things have progressed. Initially the plan was to hold classes at Marley Hill, but from November there will also be children's classes at Coxhoe as well as adult classes at Marley Hill, Coxhoe, Ferryhill and Barnard Castle.

I can assure you that I will give 100% commitment to ensuring your child learns correct technique from an early age and will develop them to be the best they can be, whilst keeping classes enjoyable. Children will be offered the opportunity to take IDTA Examinations.

Adult classes are fun as well as being a great way of keeping fit and it is great to hear that those attending my classes are already feeling the health benefits.
