Chimney Farm was sold in June, *hangs out bunting*, and after too long lying in a dark room under the constant surveillance of Dr Lieonmycouch, I am slowly recovering from the trauma.
The new owners, who have courageously taken on the back-breaking burden of possession, have their own plans for the place so it would have caused unnecessary confusion to have 3 Chimney Farms, all promoting their separate activities - hence changing the name of the page.
Our aim is to share the work of the Trust and raise awareness for the rescuers in the UK, Romania, Spain and Bosnia that we support - with special emphasis on neutering programmes which are the only way to stop the suffering at source.

30 heat lamps still going spare as the charity picking them up didn't turn up to take them. Must be gone today! If they are reading please get in touch. Worth hundreds of pounds to any charity in need! First come first serve. Call 07517 806143. No time to make this my life's work but hoping to put to good use.

We are packing up Chimney Farm and have about 24 heat lamps. going spare. Does anyone know of any charities/rescue kennels out there who would like them?

Hmm. An interesting copy and paste article in the local rag. This is what happens when a hack cobbles together 2 press releases into one very confusing one....

Thanks to all Pele's many fans and supporters for your shares. We are happy to announce this fine boy has now found a loving home and will be picked up this afternoon. His new family live in Bognor beside the sea. Pele can't wait to move in!

We are still working very hard to find wonderful homes for our 11 remaining dogs who have all been rescued from hellish kill shelters in Romania - but the good news is that 8 have already been adopted. Please check out those that still remain and come along to our Open Day on May 6th. The kennels (and house) are being sold on July 3rd so this really is the last chance saloon. After this I will be formally retiring from the stress of rescue kennel ownership and will be seeking treatment for PKOSD (Post Kennel Owning Stress Disorder). I think the cure involves lying down in a dark room for 3 weeks with no FB access. Nurse! Time to prepare my Valium drip!

As rescuers, the most important thing we can do is prevent the birth of unwanted dogs by supporting spay and neuter programmes. While nothing brings us more joy than saving a dog from an untenable existence we must be realistic and work to stop suffering at its source.

good luck for the future Julia and many many thanks for everything.

My husband and I volunteered to travel from our home in Eastbourne to Brussels to pick up stray dogs from Greece and take them to chimney farm rescue.in fact my husband John even flew out to Greece to travel back to Brussels where I would pick him up and then drive to guildford.the people at the kennels were also volunteer s and give their love, care and attention and devotion to the animals was second to none.the expenses of fuel Eurotunnel charges and any flights to and from Greece was paid by the charity.we donated our time which on some journeys could take 15 hours and our vehicles.we probably collected and delivered over 300 dogs with people waiting at chimney farm for us to return with them.in fact two of our friends had rescue dogs from there.i can honestly say that we never saw the owner once in all the time and visits that we made and there were many of them. I feel that some of the comments made by the public and what has been said is totally unjust as we have had first hand experience of their dedication to the animals.we have moved to Spain and due to the amount of stray dogs around our area and the increasing pressure that the local charity has we are hoping to arrange with chimney farm to continue with our wonderful relationship of rehoming the dogs that badly need homes.

Having lived here and seeing all the good work that this woman does is heart warming. She is a wonderful lady who truly wants to help so many people and animals. If it wasn’t for her unconditional kindness, I wouldn’t be where I am today. Thank you xx
