June'S Childminding

I am based in Cullingworth, Bradford and provide a stimulating and fun environment for your child, in a home from home setting, attending to their educational, emotional and social needs.

My home is a bungalow and it is situated at the top of a lovely quiet cul-de-sac. There is good parking and I have a long driveway also. I live with my husband Dave and we have a cat called ‘Oscar’. He is a lovely cat and all of the children love him.

Me and my husband are fully DBS checked and we have also been fully DBS checked by Bradford Council as we are also emergency foster carers. My husband works and usually gets home about 4-4. 30 each day. The children like him.

My setting offers extensive, bright, home from home play opportunities, both indoor and outdoor. I provide age appropriate toys and resources that encourage learning and development. I have a lovely enclosed rear garden with lawn and play area. I also have an area covered in play bark which makes the area safe for play. This is where the slide, and the small trampoline and the play tyres are situated.

I have a large conservatory dedicated to play, which offers free flow access (weather permitting) to outdoors. The room is arranged in activity areas, such as blocks, dramatic play (role play), art, science, math, computer, language, and others. Each area is well stocked with interesting materials, which allows the children to make choices about what to do when they are here.

I encourage free play and I have a large storage unit which houses my resources. The children are able to see what is inside these boxes and they are able to choose which resources they would like to use at any particular time. I rotate resources regularly so that the children do not become bored.

The garden has two play houses, both used for role play; however, the smaller one is primarily used as a shop and post office.

I have a variety of outdoor toys such as ride on toys, push along toys, ball pool, water trays, mud kitchen, children’s planting area, music and sensory area and many other features.

I have a separate reading room /computer I. T. learning space. This area has lots of books /reading material in it. I provide cushions and bean bags for the children to read books and relax /rest or sleep on. I have a travel cot which can be used for smaller babies /children.
