About Kamome. Japanese Kitchen
Japanese Curry House
Kamome. Japanese Kitchen Description
The British introduced curry to Japan in the nineteenth century. At that time, the British Navy cooked stew with curry powder, and the Japanese Navy not only learnt about naval systems but they also learnt the recipe for curry! Since then, the taste for curry has spread throughout Japan and it is now a firm family favourite.
It takes us more than 12 hours to cook our curry sauces from scratch. Each sauce is made with a carefully blended mix of up to 20 natural spices and a combination of fresh fruit and vegetables for a truly authentic taste of Japan. All our ingredients are 100% natural, not using artificial colourings or flavour enhancers, such as MSG. We are proud to serve traditional Japanese curry to customers in the country that taught the Japanese how to cook curry.
