I have decided to take a good break and enjoy maternity leave.
If you need any nutritional therapy advice then I recommend practitioners registered through BANT.
Please contact me from March/April 2019 via email at kat@katdandrea.com.
... Have a wonderful Christmas and thank you for all your support and to all the clients I have helped this year. I would not be where I am today if it wasn’t for you all. I love you all and wishing you all the best for 2019.
Don’t forget to increase your greens during Christmas!! 🤣🙌🏼! Remember sprouts are full of the folic acid to help you through the winter period and supports the immune system.

Do you eat breakfast? 48% of people in the UK do not have breakfast because they do not feel hungry or that they have no time.
I often go into corporate firms to talk about why breakfast is so important for increasing productivity. My talks are based on being “fuelled for Success”.
Not having breakfast can increase blood sugar levels and cortisol to help release more energy for your body to push through, however, you are pretty much guaranteed to also increase sugar and carb ...cravings later on in the day, because your body has become starved of it.
Having breakfast is proven to help you balance not only your mood but also your productivity and keep you feeling less stressed and able to cope with pressure.
Always plan ahead with what you are going to have in the morning, be “breakfast ready”. If you have no appetite then a juice or an easy shake will help stimulate your appetite.

Video of the women’s event I did over the summer.
I tapped into potential root causes of disease and environmental effects on hormone imbalances.
I explained why it is vital to activate the parasympathetic nervous system and doing things such as reading, pilates and taking regular breaks. Diet and supplements will not work alone, we need to be able to reset our body and learn to relax more.
... The girls were given plenty bowls of nourishing foods and given a chance to get to know once another and discuss different topics on health.

Swipe across and view pictures of my women’s nutrition and lifestyle event I did over the summer to help encourage women about the importance of looking after their hormones.
I focused on different hormonal imbalances and the effect of cortisol and adrenaline over a period of time.
The ladies were given a healthy goodie bag full of treats, a free supplement plus a free book “Natural Solutions for Optimising Female Health”. I also did a raffle draw give away prize at the end o...f the night.
I had two beautiful women share their unique stories and their own journey through overcoming their own health challenges
Next up trailer video on the night!

We’ve had a great summer in the UK this year but the sunny days are not over yet.
Before the autumn fresh air hits us 🍂 make sure you read my blog on acai berry and other smoothie bowls. Sometimes, all I felt like was a plain smoothie bowl with no toppings, the great thing about acai is that it is sweet enough.

Electrolytes.
They are natural minerals which regulate fluid and help keep the body hydrated, so that nerves and muscles can function properly. The minerals help cellular function through blood volume and blood pressure. The best time to have electrolytes is after a work out and when your body is over heated. These are are also minerals we crave in pregnancy.
Coconut water contains a lot of electrolytes. It’s not for everyone but I’m a huge lover of coconuts so I crave this... stuff quite a lot. I grew up drinking this and every time I went to the Philippines, we would have this fresh from the streets every morning. I sometimes grab mine from M&S, wholefoodsuk or planet organic here in the UK.

Trying to get back into healthy snacks! For the past few months, I have purchased alternative ones to have on the go. Whilst pregnant, I found I always needed little bits to nibble on and during my morning sickness I had completely gone off all my protein balls. However I can now make them and eat them again!
These are two different types I’ve eaten and mixed using a food processor.
⚪️ Cashew and coconut... 1 cup of cashews, 1/2 cup of coconut shavings, 4 dates, 2tbs of melted coconut oil, rolled over coconut shavings.
⚪️ Cacao and almond 1 cup of almonds, 1/3 cup of cacao, 4 dates, 2tbs of melted coconut oil and rolled over raw cacao

September is PCOS awareness month! Here is to 5 years of me symptom free! I used to have no periods, acne, irritability, severe period pains, bloating, hair growth in unwanted areas, hair thinning on head.
I get asked all the time, what I did different. It wasn’t an easy journey and during my recovery I struggled with a ‘healing crisis’ which happens when your body is going through recovery. The main things I chose to do was change my lifestyle and reduce stress around me, I... changed the environment, slowly eliminating toxins like alcohol, coffee as well as chemicals around the home like bleach and I moved over to more natural cosmetics. I relaxed more and eat healthier. I relied on my faith completely and I gave up trying to figure it all out. I just accepted where I was at and no longer used the disease I was diagnosed with as an excuse to not be able to do things. Then I remember the day I had a natural period and jumped with joy!
I can now eat what I want but there was a time I couldn’t. I choose to eat healthier because I prefer it and I do have a sweet tooth but I enjoy making healthier versions of food to indulge on.
I have helped many women with PCOS. If you fancy a quick chat, click my link in the bio. #pcosawarenessmonth

One of my favourites, high in antioxidants to help fight free radicals, which we cannot avoid. Amazing recipe for anti ageing and hormone support.

Berry smoothie protein shake.
I had terrible morning sickness for 17 weeks of pregnancy and went off my banana protein shakes. So to be able to get back into them, I had to change it up to something completely new!.
⚪️1/2 cup of kefir or coconut milk ... ⚪️1/4 vanilla yoghurt ⚪️Handful of berries
One scoop of Purition berry summer fruits protein powder Mix and blend and add granola, pomegranate and coconut flakes!
All high in antioxidants to help replenish cells! Kefir helps support digestion and provides beneficial bacteria and vitamins to support your gut.
