What a lovely little gem! I'm a coeliac so I do struggle to find eateries selling healthy, homemade gluten free meals.

This place was perfect for me. To add to that the place was welcoming, friendly and clean. The two ladies that served me made me feel like royalty. They were attentive, without it being overbearing, and nothing was too much trouble. The food and drinks were beautifully presented. I ordered a gluten free sandwich and homemade mushroom soup and hot chocolate. It arrived with a lovely fresh side salad and handful of crisps. It was reasonably priced too. I recommend this lovely little place and could not fault it!

Our 1st time to Chester & we found Katie's Tearooms by accident ...and what a lovely find ...We had the best hot chocolate and a mocha ever ....def beats any Starbucks or Costa's ...lovely venue & girl in there was lovely & friendly ..would definitely recommend to anybody going to Chester ....food looked very appealing but we had just had a full English at hotel so had no room to sample cakes etc ...

My husband and I found this little gem today after walking streets and turning corners on a lovely free day. We had a wonderful experience .....really fabulous staff, friendly, humerous and efficient and delicious lunch. He had an unusual but tasty starter, mushroom, cranberry jam and brie with a side salad and then a spinach and ricotta Tortellini for his main course and I had the best grilled gammon with pineapple, fried egg, chips and salad I have ever had out. We shared a sticky toffee pudding with custard for dessert and a vegetable smoothie to die for. Cannot wait to return. Also there is great history associated with the building....so even if you simply pop in for a coffee do treat yourself to going upstairs and looking around.

Love going to Katies, the food is lovely, the staff are friendly and although it's a bit of a trek to the toilets it's an interesting journey through the old merchant house.

User

I had an excellent lunch here today - tasty food and great service from a very friendly waitress (she was right, the chocolate brownie ice cream cake is a life changing event! :D).

Would wholeheartedly recommend Katie's Tearooms to anyone.

Stopped at Katie's Tearooms on Sat afternoon with my two sisters and baby niece. We had soup and sandwich deals with pours of tea. Just what we needed after a hard days shopping. Soup was delicious and the side salad was huge. Staff were friendly and helpful!

Was second visit to Katie's tearoom, the last time being last June. Both times we had breakfast there, unfortunately I have to say that though the breakfast was good, it was not as good as the previous one ( reason that we revisited). They are still very pleasant and the service is excellent. Plus it's lovely having tea and coffee correctly serviced.

Ordered a Veggie breakfast for myself & a full breakfast for my brother. Breakfast arrived...my Brother got 4 hash browns, 2 eggs, beans, tomatoes, mushrooms, toast & fried bread. I first of all got a small meat breakfast which I did not want of course caus eI had orered a Veggie breakfast. When my Veggie breakfast arrived I got 3 mushrooms, 4 half toast, 2 half tomatoes, 1 hash brown, 1 egg & 1 Linda Mccartney veggie sausage...Not much value for £5. They did not acknowledge the fact they got the order wrong in the 1st place & rude, skanky staff. Think they need waxy ears syrringed.
