This place is amazing - it has good simple German food with outstanding beers. I try to come once a year when in London and the atmosphere last night was full of song, laughs and loads of beer - my poor head this morning lol 😜👍

The food and beer are amazing, matched by the great atmosphere of the space. I like to go during the day when it is quiet and treat myself to a stein and quality authentic German food.

Love this place to drink, great music and live band plus the sausages were amazing.... Staff are always lovely, would say if you're not a fan of loud music maybe try sticking to the upstairs area... Thanks guys you're great :D

Great night out, good crowd in there too. Live music, good beer. Buffet style food, seemed fine but a bit cold upon serving.

Has anyone found a dark blue hoodless coat with leather sleeves here? I was exceptionally drunk on Saturday night (the 12th) & believe I may have left it either in the loo or at the back table in the room adjoining the main bar room. It's my favourite coat plz help me find it!

Over priced beer ! But it is good beer ... security staff could do with a lesson in manner and polite Ness as when a polite young lady informed us our table was booked for another group the juice baby stormed over and demanded we left the table immediately .... no please or thank you .... must say bar and waiting staff were very pleasant and polite ..

Food was good, staff polite and pleasant. Prices were to be expected for Central London.



Agree with a few other comments though, it was very loud! Had to raise our voice to order or have a conversation at 5pm on a Saturday. Not really a clubbing venue or a time you'd expect to be deafened.

Lunch time visit yesterday. Good selection of beer and reasonably well priced and good meal but let down by the high noise levels, it's impossible to hear what the person next to you is saying! Don't go here for a relaxing Bavarian meal but the Bavarian bar near Tower Hill instead.

It's a fun place to go, great beer selection and good food all reasonably priced. Unfortunately it's completely let down by the insane noise levels. I could barely hear the person right next to me and forget about having a conversation across the table. I had to shout all night and ended up with a sore throat and ringing ears.

Too loud inside so ended up shouting to have a conversation with anyone including ordering your drinks at bar.

The amount of people they receive, especially on the weekends, you'd think they'd learn to put more than two people behind the bar.



Security staff very,very rude and manager unable to communicate properly with you in English or even express empathy to calm a tense situation.

Had an experience at closing where I hadn't finished my beer and simply asked security if they provided plastic cups. I was blatantly told to leave my drink or f*** off.

When I asked manager for their name to make a formal complaint, he too said the same and walked off. Later overheard outside another customer also trying to make a complaint about the same security staff and tried to back what they said from my experience at the time and the manager just said he can't have a conversation with 3 people and walked off again.

No knowledge of how to speak to people. I know it may be frustrating dealing with the same everyday but everyone in their roles at some point have to put up with something they don't like. Having an aggressive approach will not help the situation either.

Blacklisted for me as far as I'm concerned. In need of management overhaul. Preferable someone who knows what it means to manage staff and customers.

The acoustics are ghastly so if you just want to drink very expensive German lager sitting at school benches whilst your ears are pounded with echo this is the place for you. The sauerkraut was the most dismal I have ever tasted. The Bratwurst was nice. The staff were very efficient and pleasant. They must suffer from permanent headaches. The toilets were fine but very peculiar directional signage. Everyone in there seemed to be having a great time. It's probably just me.

I attended your venue last night and was treated very badly by your manager. I ordered food around 8pm at the bar, served by your manager wearing a checked shirt. I ordered two items of food totalling just shy of £25, I had only arrived at the about a half hour before. During the service he took my bank card from me to process a contactless transaction. He then gave me back my bank card but did not give me a receipt, I waited for a little while then headed back to my table. About 45 minutes after going to the bar, I asked another staff member, a blonde lady, where my food order was, she said she would find out and have it taken to my table. After another 15 minutes, I went to the bar again to ask where my food order was. The blonde lady apologised because she was not allowed to leave her station, so after my original complaint she had done absolutely nothing to help a customer resolve their issue. I was then asked to point out the person who served me, who, was the manager. I had a conversation with him, complaining about the length of time it had taken to serve my buffet food. The manager looked through all of his transactions to check if the transaction had happened. It was at this point in which he ruined the rest of my night. Instead of being sympathetic with the customer he then basically insinuated I was lying about ordering the food. Now, what could of happened is that the transaction earlier on simply did not go through, hence why it did not show up on the list of transactions. By the manager trying to prove his point, he printed off all transactions for the previous 2 hours for me to look through. I then said I would look through them but I would like the same order I had ordered previously. At this point the manager held a try bun up to me and said "this is what I can give you" whilst he was laughing at me. It was at this point I became extremely irate and tossed the receipts he had printed out back towards him. Not knowing the man who served me was the manager at the time, I then walked up to the security and explained my issue asking how I would receive a refund, as I do not love in London, to which they replied he was the maanger, the security had far better people skills than the incompetent manager. Approximately half an hour later the manager came back to my table with the security saying I had been very rude to him and wanted an apology which I refused to give due to his horrendous customer service skills. The fact that I was being chucked out of a venue, not becuse I was drunk and disorderly, or fighting, or causing damage but instead, because I was querying where my £25 sausage platter and currywurst meal was, is ridiculous. Had the manager just treated my complaint with a simple "I can't see the transaction, however I can do your order again and if it shows you are charged on your bank statement then we will give you a refund next week." Then there would not have been any issue. Whilst at the table the manager gave some spiel about how he found me at my table because the last transaction for food was at 6.15, even though I was not at the venue at this time. What actually happened is during my complaint at the bar I simply explained I was waiting for food at table 45. After this I was removed from the venue because apparently your manager is narcissistic and you aren't allowed to make a complaint about a missed order on a Katzenjammer premieses. Eventually after a drama downstairs between my friends and the manager I was eventually let back in. I did not make a fuss of it and I was not aggressive in any way. I simply walked back in. I was then taken from my seat again, by the security to apologise. There had however been a miss communication and I was finally allowed to go back to my seat. After speaking to my friends, they said to me that the manager had said I had accused the manager twice of being a liar. And the manager had claimed the bun incident never happened, he also claimed he could gather 25 witnesses to prove his point which I found hilarious. Like I said before. Had your manager had any people skills he would have simply said in a polite manner that the transaction hadn't processed and they would re-order my food for me and would process a refund if required. I must have asked about 10 times how I would receive a refund if I read my bank statement on Monday and find I have been charged to which I still do not know the answer. I can safely say this has been my worst experience of a bar in London, and myself and my friends will not be returning in the future. Your manager is a narcissist and is not fit to deal with customer complaints. I wasn't trying to rip off Katzenjammers, nor was I asking for a Michelin star quality meal. I was asking for a crappy sausage buffet meal which had been sitting under lamps for hours on end. Now, if I am charged when my contactless transactions are processed by my bank on Monday/Tuesday I would eventually like to know how I go about getting my money back after asking multiple times already

Don’t eat their food on a Sunday, because apparently it will be your fault that they are short staffed and all they can do is microwave the food, which will be half hot and half cold, when making a complaint don’t expect any sympathy, manager not interested..avoid over priced re heated food..

Couldn't organise a p!$5 up in a brewery! Messed up my booking by putting the wrong date in the diary. 11 blokes looking forward to some food and a few steins and we spent 45 minutes with them trying to find us a table. One waitress got us seated only for us to be kicked off the table 5 minutes later. Manager only appeared after most of the group had given up and decided to move on. Have since emailed but they can't even be bothered to respond. Best to stay clear.

Certainly ain't authentique as Germans aren't so disorganised.
