Hello everyone, I am excited to announce that Moazzam Begg will be speaking this Thursday at King's. He will take us through his extraordinary story as a detainee in Guantanamo Bay to his work in the UK as part of CAGE in exposing injustice and the manifestation of Islamophobia. We will also have time for a Q&A session at the end.
There will also be an opportunity to join in work I will be doing this year around structural Islamophobia focusing on the effect of PREVENT on the... educational experience of Muslims students.
This event is only open to all students so non-KCL are welcome; make sure you bring your ID's along with your tickets!

Salamat everyone! ArabSoc president here!
First off, I'd like to say thank you on behalf of the committee to everyone that came to our Meet & Greet yesterday! It was lovely to meet everyone, both current and former students. The event was a huge success (thanks to the efforts of the entire committee!) and we hope everyone enjoyed themselves just as much as we did!
Over the past few weeks, the committee and I have been revamping the society and turning it into one that'll not... only host a few events for you to dress up for, but build an active, inclusive and friendly Arab community at King's. KCL Arab Society is one that celebrates Arabic culture, as well as Arabs at KCL, their stories and their achievements.
We have so many things planned for the following year, and have already made links with organisations such as Syria Relief Charity to enrich the society with diverse activities. That being said, thank you to Wael and Nada for attending on behalf of Syria Relief yesterday!
So keep an eye on our social media platforms to keep up with all the things we'll be getting up to this year. It's guaranteed to be a LIT 2018-2019!
