About Kcom

KCOM provides communications services to consumers and businesses in Hull and East Yorkshire.

Kcom Description

KCOM provides a range of communications services to consumers and businesses in Hull and East Yorkshire.

Part of the KCOM Group PLC, our history stretches back over a hundred years to 1904.

But there’s nothing old-fashioned about us – we’ve survived and thrived since then by staying in touch with our customers’ changing needs. We were the first in the UK to offer untimed internet access, for example, as well as the first to provide a UK broadband service.

Today, we’re proud to offer great value services to our customers that make it easier for them to communicate, both at home and at work.

Youngsters from schools across #Hull and #EastYorkshire descended on the KCOM Stadium as we joined forces with Hull City rising stars Sean McLoughlin and Keane Lewis-Potter to talk social media and cyberbullying for Safer Internet Day.
The aim of the day is to empower young people to make the most of the opportunities available online, but also to be aware of the pitfalls that can exist on the internet.

Challenging weather conditions in recent days mean we’re dealing with a large number of faults caused by damaged cables. While the high winds continue, climbing restrictions are in place on our network so it will take us longer than usual to repair these faults.
We’re very sorry for any delays in restoring service to affected customers but the safety of our engineers is paramount. We’ll repair outstanding faults as soon as it’s safe to do so.

As it's Time to Talk Day, we organised some activities that help promote mental wellbeing. This included smoothie stations, a city centre treasure hunt, a special visit from RSPCA Hull with the chance to cuddle kittens and guinea pigs, a raffle and afternoon tea – all raising funds to support Hull and East Yorkshire Mind. Here's Josie the smoothie queen!

When the taught becomes the teacher :)
Marjorie visits our drop-in sessions at Carr Lane to learn a little bit more about using the internet each month. She likes to carry on practicing at home so we set her homework which has really helped her. When she first came she struggled to send an email, and last month she brought us instructions on how to send a recorded voice note by email - we were really impressed!
Our drop-in sessions are held on the first Tuesday of every month from 9:30 - 11:30am in our Learning Zone on Carr Lane. If you'd like to be a bit more confident using your devices online, please pop by - we even have biscuits!
