From October 2015, anyone renting out their home will need to ensure there is a smoke alarm on every floor of the home at the start of a tenancy.

Keep People Safe has developed as a result of a personal experience that kick started the concept. This prompted in depth research into the field to define a market.

Smoke Alarms are essential in day to day lives but not all are checked and maintained as recommended.

Research has shown, that ensuring an alarm is fully functional 24-7 becomes an issue after an event; an after- thought that could prove costly both financially and emotionally, for ourselves, family, colleagues and neighbours.

The Fire and Rescue Service of the UK state, “Every year the Fire and Rescue Service is called to over 600, 000 fires which result in
over 800 deaths and over 17, 000 injuries. About 50, 000 are in the home, many could be prevented if people had early warning. ”

Health and Safety advice worldwide states that a smoke alarm battery should be replaced every 12 months minimum to ensure safety.

Concerning statistics; therefore, providing smoke alarm(s) with hassle free maintenance could help save the lives of individuals and families at minimal cost.

Provide buildings with a reliable service that ensures a smoke alarm has the necessary portable power to function by delivering to the door the necessary amount of batteries required to power the alarms.

This will be repeated every 12 months as recommended by worldwide Health and Safety Organisations.

Inform the recipient /association that the batteries have been dispatched.

Follow up communication to remind the recipient /association that they should now have changed their batteries.
