Massive thanks to Sue Hammond and Penny Campbell for the pasta Bolognese and the homemade carrot cake! Our guests gave everything a big thumbs up last night!!

We have FINALLY set a date for the final 50th birthday challenge! 22nd - 25th April we will be WALKING the Leeds Liverpool canal from end to end. It was originally supposed to be a cycling challenge but, despite trying really hard, I cannot get to grips with long distance cycling - it's just not for me 😂. So we decided to walk it instead. All 127 miles of it - over 4 days. All accommodation/food etc costs will be covered by us, so any sponsorship donations will go straight to the Community Kitchen.

Lovely evening last night in the Kitchen. Jo's veg stew and Rosi and Jo's lemon drizzle cake for pudding! All went down well and - thanks to our fab volunteers - everything ran like clockwork!

Wow, it was a busy one last night!! A lot of hungry guests to feed. There was a selection of sandwiches, a bowl of veggie chilli with nachos and a delicious cornflake tart and custard pudding! (Thank you Rosi and Jo) It all disappeared within 15 minutes! Thank you to last night's volunteers - sterling job!! 😁

Really good night in the kitchen yesterday! Lots of cake donations that went down VERY well with our guests - thank you to Keighley Labour Party for their donation of cakes and buns and also to Penny Campbell for some more yummy homemade cakes. Supriyo served up his famous corned beef hash which always gets the thumbs up from everyone and there were well over 30 guests that came in. Thank you to all our volunteers that make it all possible week in week out 😃

Hello to all our new supporters. We get a lot of people asking how they can help the Community Kitchen, so here's some of the things people can do..... 1) We ALWAYS need loaves of bread, blocks of cheese, biscuits and tins of tuna so if you want to donate any of those then get in touch. 2) If you are a home baker, and would like to bake a cake or some buns that we can give out on a Monday, again just get in touch. 3) We have a huge list of people volunteering so we don't need... any more Monday night helpers at the mo, but we'll keep you posted if that changes. 4) Although we do receive supermarket and other donations of food, we do also have some weekly costs so if you wanted to chuck a couple of quid our way, you can use the Just Giving link below. (We have one 50th birthday challenge left to do - the cycling one - so you'll be hearing more about this in a couple of months). 5) Invite your friends and family to like our page - the more people that know about us, the better! 6) Keep liking our posts so that we carry on appearing in your news feed and we can keep you updated.
