Hi, I’m Kelly. I provide McTimoney- Corley Spinal Manipulation for horses and dogs. I use corrective manipulation of the musculoskeletal system (which include the bones of the head, spinal column, pelvis and limbs) to enhance the natural self- healing capabilities of the body. The McTimoney- Corley Therapists motto is the ‘The Whole body Whole’, this means I aim to treat horses and dogs holistically and not just the presenting ailment. McTimoney- Corley therapy aims to relieve pain and discomfort in both the sport and leisure horse which may be achieved with re-alignment through adjustments that encourage soft tissue release. With many years experience as a therapist, I really understand the needs of both competition and leisure horses and their need to be in peak condition.

There can be certain signs your horse is in pain or feels uncomfortable which can really detriment their performance, some symptoms to look out for are:
Bucking
Rearing
Napping
Head Shaking
Discomfort when brushing over the back
Resistance to being tacked up
Reluctance to jump
Stiffness on one /both sides etc. .

These are just some reasons your horse may be telling you they are in pain. These symptoms can become apparent for different reasons such as ill-fitting tack, injury through trauma, stress and over-exertion through performance. I have treated many different types /breeds of horses that are used for performance disciplines such as showjumping, eventing and dressage and also leisure horses, treating each with a calm, friendly approach to attend to their individual needs.
