Kelvin Players Theatre Company invites you to join us for our February production, The Father.
Andre is a man facing persecution from all sides, and he has had enough. First someone steals his watch. Then he suspects his daughter, Anne, of plotting to take his flat away. His favourite daughter Elise, never seems to visit. And Anne’s husband ‒ or lover, Pierre ‒ with whom she is moving to London ‒ or staying in Paris ‒ threatens Andre with violence if he won’t cooperate.
And ...to top it all off, strangers keep appearing in Andre’s flat, telling him that they are his friends and family ‒ and that he doesn’t live in his flat anymore. Whatever his age, Andre knows that he is still a man of authority, and he will find some way to assert it. After all, he still has all his faculties...doesn’t he?
In this darkly humorous and deeply poignant translation by Christopher Hampton, Florian Zeller’s award-winning play The Father is simultaneously a tragi-comic mystery, a sobering and realistic family story, and an unsentimental, emotionally intense look at the world through the eyes of a man experiencing dementia. It provides a dramatic illustration of the disintegration of an intelligent and independent man.

It's a great sign when the director is smiling at rehearsal! This can only mean that you absolutely cannot miss Kelvin's last play of 2018, Going Postal by Terry Pratchett.
Make sure you keep Tim Whitten smiling by booking your tickets soon to avoid disappointment.

We couldn't be more thrilled to have won the John Coe Award for Best Dramatic Production for Anne Boleyn at the Rose Bowl Awards yesterday evening. Thanks to everyone involved, including the Tobacco Factory and our wonderful audiences for all of your support! See you at Going Postal!

Moist von Lipwig was a con artist, a fraud and a man faced with a life choice: be hanged, or put Ankh-Morpork's ailing postal service back on its feet. It was a tough decision.
With the help of a golem who has been at the bottom of a hole in the ground for over two hundred years, a pin fanatic and Junior Postman Groat, he's got to see that the mail gets through. In taking on the evil chairman of the Grand Trunk Semaphore Company, and a midnight killer, he's also got to stay alive.
Join the Kelvin Players this December in what is sure to be a fun filled, hugely entertaining pre-Christmas event!

Tartuffe at the Tobacco Factory Theatre 2015 - You do not expect such excellence, dedication and attention to detail from people who are not being paid. But that is exactly what you get from the Kelvin Players Theatre Company. This performance was daring, absorbing and thoroughly entertaining. Faultless performances across the board. I would absolutely recommend a visit to see this company in action.
