Kempston Paper Bag

Kempston Paper Bag is a packaging wholesaler and retailer located near Bedford, Bedfordshire. We supply a full range of paper bags, carrier bags, postal products and associated packaging materials. It is a family owned and run business which was founded in 1967 by Edgar Valentine. Originally based in Kempston, we have relocated since we began trading but are still proud of our humble beginnings in Kempston hence keeping our original name. Mr Valentine originally started the business above his beloved wife's sweet shop in Kempston, delivering bags and packaging materials to local businesses. Due to the success of the business, not long after he started trading it was apparent he needed bigger premises so relocated to a warehouse in Bedford and continued trading from there until he retired in 1984 and handed the baton to his daughter Carole and her husband David. Carole and David Shreeves have expanded Kempston Paper Bag exponentially since Edgar's days of trading and fondly remember him doing his deliveries round Bedford in his Volvo Estate. We now cover an area much larger than Bedford with an unrecognisable product catalogue from what Edgar originally started out with. In 1988 Carole and David moved with their family to a house in Willington and were able to successfully run Kempston Paper Bag from there for many more years until they downsized to retire. Carole and David retired in 2019 and once again the business was kept in the family and handed down to their daughter Anna and her friend Hayley to continue trading.
