Kensington House - Student Accommodation In Birmingham

I have the worst living experience ever in this place. I've seen a mouse in person in someone's room on the 1st floor in a quiet evening. Nearly everyone I know living in the 1st floor told me that they have seen mice , either seeing them passing quickly and gone disappear or hearing mice scratching sounds in the midnight.

There was no hot water and heating and it happened quite a lot. At one week everyone has to wait in their rooms until there is hot water to take a shower. Luckily some people have gym memberships and so you will go to the gym house for shower but I have to wait in my room. Some of the working staff is not very responsible and humble at all, several promises were broken when they said it will be back to normal within few hours. However, the issue was not even solved after a few days and it took more than a week to resolve.

There were no formal notices or apologises at all in the process. The responses from the staff working onsite is very unhelpful and in the public email even mentioned that "It's not my fault and you have to be patient."

The hot water still happned missing quite often. It happened every one or two weeks and it could last for a whole night and you will need to report them again. The rats still exist there and there were no back up plans such as offering students to stay in hotel when these horrible incidents happened again and again.

I am writing this long review because I think I am not paying for the values worth the services I receive. I have had enough BS from it. It is a so-called " luxurious student accommondation" with all the ridiculous problems. However, it is perfectly fine for you to stay in the place if you have seen the place and like to give it a try(which I did) and it is entirely up to you to choose to live a whole year there.

For the price, I can't understand why there is a negative review. The place is clean, staff are amazing and it's a perfect location. I've loved my time here and the only reason I left was because I needed to!

High quality student accommodation unlike any other, especially for the area! Brilliant rooms done to a good standard offering style and functionality coupled with great communal rooms and lovely staff. Definitely worth the money! I personally don't understand the negative review as any issues that have occurred are due to the fact it's a new building with teething issues which are always sorted very quickly after they were reported. The quick response seems more of a positive to me. I feel comfortable, safe and at home in this building. It's also a great location to live being in the heart of the city.
