Lockdown has given a bit of spare free time to edit some videos. Here's one from a session last year, coasteering near Porthleven. This one has a bit of a twist in that we switch it up and do a bit of mine exploring after coasteering into an old, flooded mine shaft. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F8WGNyeag 5I It was back in 2017, about this time of year that we undertook this epic coasteer exploring a remote section of the coast in Cornwall. We knew it would be a long one, we even took lunch in the dry-bag and ate it halfway on an small island. What we didn't expect was to be in the water for 5 hours! It was exhausting, but we punched a big hole in the still ongoing project to coasteer every section of the west Cornwall coastline between... Penzance and St. Ives. This was is an incredible place of solitude and isolation (maybe the best place to be right now?), with amazing scenery and endless caves and other brilliant features to explore. It was a privilege to be there on that day. Enjoy the video.
Fast forward to today and it's a very different situation. The weather is beautiful and we know that it's going to be amazing down under the cliffs. But for now we all have to stay home. Let's all do our bit, and if we do, the sooner we'll all be out there on the cliffs playing together. Stay strong people, we can beat this!

Another #newroute at the ancient #cliffcastle of Logan Rock. This place is turning out to be Cornwall's answer to #vedauwoo! So many #widecracks to go at! This was the #firstascent of Getting Back What We Never Lost, a cheeky little #hvs 5a, with a bold start and an awkward move to gain the crack. Maybe it's low #e1, but we decided to err on the side of caution. No #bigcam needed. Climbed as I was too weak from #mineexploring the previous day to attempt Jack Yer Body. A strong local climbing contingent making the most of the #amazingweather yesterday at Cornwall's most scenic (and most photographed?) spot, #pednvounder beach and #loganrock. The target was the devilish Jack Yer Body, a #crackclimbing #testpiece with a difficult thin starting crack into a bottomless #offwidthcrack above. Andy #sent the climb in good style. I came close but no send today. @tomlastphotography got properly stuck in too. Meanwhile @kernow_klimber and @hernanamap...atagonia had the sense to do some easier routes in the sun nearby. We had a very special guest on one of our coasteering routes - #SantaClaus himself! He was travelling around checking out his route for Christmas Eve when he spotted this jump and got in touch to ask if we could take him out. Turns out he's pretty handy!
